Default 3PV vs FS G7P

I'm starting to get analysis paralysis looking at budget friendly radios. I've read so many reviews and watched videos till my head hurts. I am getting back into nitro and was looking at the above radios as they are both around the 100 dollar range. I also found a Sanwa MTS for 80 bucks. I thought I would throw this to the masses to see what you all think. I am open to other options as well.

Thanks in advance for your input.

So I have had both the futaba and the g7p. When I got back into onroad racing a couple years ago I picked up a dx4c to start with. I missed my 4pl I used to run so I looked up what's available and saw the 3pv. It worked with some of the receivers I still had so I went with it. Personally I didn't care for it. I didn't like the feel, and the menu navigation felt worse and had less features. I found about the g7p and I'm like this looks pretty good! So I ordered it (order the one with the foam wheel) the menu has alot of features, about as many features as the noble nb4 however the menu isn't as easy to go through. I would say the g7p is alittle more difficult to go through then the 3pv only cause there is so much more that can be done. The g7p has a back lit screen which is a plus. Screen is large and the wheel is lowered and sticks out further for a more comfortable feel. If you use AA batteries, It will go through it quick, so getting a LiPo battery isn't a bad idea. The receivers are smaller too. I had upgraded to the noble nb4 and it's sooo much better, but now that the noble price has doubled, it's hard to justify a noble.

In short I prefer the g7p over the 3pv. 3pv felt like better quality but the g7p was more comfortable, more features (including programmable buttons and there is alot of buttons u can program)

Thank you for that info. I have. Been doing as much h reading as possible, but a lot of the threads are older and more or less, I wanted to see if that was the same consensus now as it was before. I will continue to look for a cheaper Noble before committing.

I’d go with the G7P if you're after something more comfortable and with better features. The 3PV is solid, but it feels kinda basic compared to the G7P. The G7P has a bigger screen, backlight, and more customizable buttons, so it’s more future-proof. The 3PV feels like better build quality, but honestly, I found the G7P a bit more enjoyable to use, even though the menu’s a bit packed. Just be aware, if you use AA batteries, it’ll chew through them pretty fast, so a LiPo battery is worth it. Overall, G7P’s the better all-rounder.

Great, thank you. I was leaning that way as well.

I would skip the LiPo and get a LiFe pack.

I can not understand why people prefer LiPo above NiMh for just a transmitter. The higher voltage and possible current will for sure give no improvement in range and other specs so that is no issue.
Better capacity? Maybe slight but no real difference.
Self discharge? Yep, NiMh has a higher discharge rate but Eneloop batteries have a pretty low discharge rate.
Weight? OK, LiPo could win but will a lighter weight in the base of the transmitter help to keep a balance while holding the transmitter?

More pro's about NiMh? Yes!
1) no need to take them out the transmitter to charge them because no balancing needed
2) No fire risk, or rather much less fire hazzard.
