element enduro sendero....reedy sc480x esc. factory radio xp130 transmitter. i burned out the esc running it through water . replaced it with same esc. it bound up to reciever no problem without useing bind plug. trim is set at neutral and dual rate is set at half throttle as my grandson plays with it. the problem however is random runaways from a stopped or low throttle position . aleady broken lights and such from such incidents. do i need the reedy program card ? any advice appreciated .

You never need to bind an ESC to the receiver (binding happens between transmitter and receiver). However you pretty much always need to calibrate your ESC to your radio (i.e. setting zero point, full throttle and full brake) - if you did not do this, that might be part of your problem.

Regarding the manual there is no calibration, only the need of a range setting of 100% and the trim in the center.

Receiver is on a box with rubber seal so no water got in .. The esc sits on chassis out in the open .ive set full throttle and trim neutral . Its really takes off wide open this way . The manual is not clear on setting epa . My understanding is that the epa is for the 3rd channel which i dont use . Im new at this so ....

You are sure no water has come in, or do you think?
I race a lot in the wet and I know from many years experience if you do not kit all openings, water will come through.
A simple test you must do is switch it all on and when there is contact switch of the transmitter, if then the car goes on full throttle (put the car on a stand with the wheels from the ground) then the cause is a failsave issue and still it can be just a small drop of water in the receiver.
But what a weird setup, An open ESC and the receiver in a box. OK, the manual says the ESC is waterproof, apparently it is not.

Ok ... i think i got it . I totally misunderstood calibrating the esc . As far as the esc being waterproof i missed that in the manual . It sure fried mine . The battery wire was completely melted off . I assume it was from the water .if anything changes I'll be back . Thank yall
