Traxxas calibration

Purchased a used Traxxas Bandit but there's no radio. I'm wanting to use my Futaba radio/rec. but will the XL ESC calibrate to the Futaba unit.

The manual from Futaba state to put the throttle channel in reverse mode for calibrating ESC's.

And the manual of the ESC: 090803_KC1033-R01_XL5_INST.pdf (traxxas.com)
