It’s now April 2024. I haven’t heard anything from Horizon Hobby or Trinity for the replacement of two Trinity Slot Machine Certified Plus motors. Just checking if other folks have heard anything from Horizon to make sure I didn’t accidentally delete something that went to spam.

I have not heard anything either.

Nothing here, got 5 motors to exchange.

I am itching to see what the differences are. I have a certified 5% I would like to trade in.

The certified motors were supposed to be replaced at some point after the standard slot machines started. Horizon parts availability for TLR is not making me hopeful.

Diehard RC Rug Champs & Interstate Series Final posted on FB that they will allow Slot Machines to be run after testing by Team Brood to make sure the Slot Machine conforms. The reasoning was Trinity / Horizon Hobby hasn’t started the exchange program.

I have 3 sitting in a box for a whole season waiting for the swap. I have heard nothing

I thought I was on top of the exchange registration. Maybe there are just that many people in front of me or the batch is just that small.

That says "One coupon per customer." Are they honoring multiple motors from a single person?

Yes, that is just the confirmation email after registering motors. The coupon one time only per customer. Sadly it expired before anything worthwhile was in stock.

Anyone have an update? I have yet to see or hear anything.

I bet they are behind in development and Roar approval will be tedious this time around. Think Horizon wasn’t expecting this when they purchased Trinity. It will take a miracle to revive the name at this point. Curious how many will be up for sale once they actually get one. I know mine will.

According to the ROAR site, the Slot Machine 2's were approved on February 7, 2024.

this will be more than just releasing a new motor. They have to replace all the ones people in the exchange program as well as produce enough for retail sale. I’m surprised Horizon can weather the storm of the Trinity debacle and their own parts situation back to back. Be nice if we got this motor before the holiday so it could be included in the sale of all these Awesomatix popping up for sale after MI9 smack downs this weekend…..LMAO

There is hope. On of our local racers received his instructions on May 13. Sent them in 2 days later and received his new motor 7 days after that. According to the instructions, they are only doing 17.5 and 13.5 noncertified motors first. so those of us with team motors. I guess, will have to wait. But the program seems to have started.

Everyone I know, who is exchanging their motor, has received some kind of an update. I have not received an update to exchange my motor. What's up with that?

I haven't received any updates either. I have certified, team spec, and race spec motors from 25.5 - 13.5.

UPDATE…….received an exchange email yesterday. It was in my spam folder. Guess i’ll be packaging up my paperweight when I get back into town.

It would be nice if they set up a web page that you can log on to with like your email, last name and zip code or something like that and check the status. I'm waiting on replacements for two Certified Team Plus motors and two Team Spec motors.

Between this Trinity situation and what Horizon did with the TLR parts debacle I can't say that I will be looking to invest any additional $ from this hobby in Horizon owned brands there is just way too much risk of ending up in a pickle like the folks in this thread. I feel for you guys.......

I have no idea what happened with TLR parts, and I am not an Horizon Hobby fanboy as they have awful customer service with their new system. But for this Trinity debacle, I honestly give them props for stepping up and replacing motors that were a result of the previous regime's handling.

the parts situation wasn’t their fault either but it did happen on their watch. Sucks if you owned a TLR. Having these unfortunate incidents happen back to back I’m surprised it didn’t bankrupt them.

Sent in my motor yesterday, hope to get a replacement somewhat soon.

Has anyone actually received replacement instructions yet? All I got was the 20% discount coupon, so far. Checked my junk mail folder too.
