I never said anyone had received their replacement (although they have). You asked if anyone had received replacement instructions. Multiple users in this thread had already confirmed that before you posted. Comments #24, #27, #28, #30 all confirm that someone has received instructions. One of those comments also indicated someone had already received their replacement motor. So no, it was NOT a dick thing for me to post that several had already received their instructions.

<looking sideways> Has anyone outside of the USA received instructions?

Dan 06-12-2024 05:36 AM

I got my replacement 25.5T motor last week. Relatively quick turnaround time.

My friend still has not received return instructions for his certified 21.5T. I think they will work on those later.

Be careful. You might get jumped on for not reading every word of the thread.

Let’s not get this thread closed like the other Slot Machine thread. I find it useful enough to know how the exchange program is going. Keeps me vigilant on checking my spam before deleting everything.

Got my replacement motor today. Sent in my motor later than I intended but the turn around was very quick.

UPDATE: Trinity had 3 tiers of motors when they were a stand alone company. Standard, Team Spec, and Certified. They already stated that Certified motors would take time and be replaced last. I’m cool with that as the motor I sent in was a Team Spec with an excellent rotor. What I received today was the brushless motor equivalent to the old GM Purple Bull or Reedy Firehawk…..lol. I guess I should be happy that Horizon even replaced the motor to begin with. The rotor is far below every motor currently out. Its the same part number they’ve always had but this particular one is a lower 5% IMO. Possibly great in a 12th scale or F1 but not a sedan. This is my opinion and others may have better luck with theirs. Just reporting through the eyes of STLNLST…….good day folks :-)

Makes me wonder if I should even bother sending mine in whenever I get the email. Trade paper weights for paper weights?

Just got my email to send in non-certified motors (2 to send, 1 certified still waiting on).

I put in my form on 11/11/23.

trilerian 06-28-2024 01:45 PM

Got my email to send in my non certified motors. What are people doing with the "Team" versions?

mine was a team motor but the rotor in the new motor was far from a team version. Would have been better off switching out rotors before I sent it in.

I'm hanging on to my Team/certified motor for the moment, just sending in the regular motors. I don't know what their plans are.

what's crazy is that i asked on a facebook group about the exchange and some dude said they were seeing rotors in the "high 1700's". either the dude has a whack meter or he's just a fanboi...

like it stated previously……this is my opinion and others might experience something different. I can say that this was one of the lowest rotors I have seen across my table in quite a while. It beat out the original Reds rotor from about a year ago. Trinity rotors all have the same part number etched on the shaft so they are still using previous stock in the new motors. Theres a reason why they offered standard, team, and certified. IMO my rotor was the bottom 5% of standard. They had to get rid of that stock somehow. The rotor in my team motor sent in was very high 1700.

Just for my curiosity, was your email specifically to send in your team motor? I was under the impression they were going to rebuild those by just swapping stators and moving over parts.

I have other rotors to toss in when it's time to send in my certified motor, if that's not the case, just trying to forward plan.

i was under the impression that it was Certified and then everything else. If you have crap rotors I suggest you throw those in your team motors. At this point I don’t expect the Trinity line to be what it once was. I could be wrong but in the eyes of a club racer there are far too many great choices out there to choose from.

I was under the impression that they were only doing the standard motors at this point, which is a total replacement. Team and certified come later and are just a stator swap, you get your original rotor back. Sounds like you got a standard motor swap.

you could be right but whats done is done. I only had the motor for testing to begin with and had no intentions of running it but had to go through it yo see what they were bringing to the table after the ban.

Received the email from Horizon to send in "non-certified" motors. So not sure if that means both the standard Slot Machines and the Team Spec Slot Machines? I believe the Team Spec motors had a 5% rotor in them? Not sure if I should just send in my Team Spec (13.5, 17.5 and 21.5) motors now or wait to send in with my certified team plus (25.5) motor?

Body of email .....

I'd contact them to clarify rather than just sending it in.

Sent 2 Team Spec 5% versions on 6/29. They got them 7/1. Had multiple chats with customer service then with technical product specialist. Was told to send in both and they had certified replacements for me. Haven't received replacements but pretty much planned on selling them when I get them back anyways. my 2 were tuned by a very reputable builder and had TP1119 rotors and ceramic bearings along with titanium screw set. I expect to get motors that don't even come close to what they were and have switched to another company that I'm very happy with so just looking to recoup some of my money back.

STLNLST 07-04-2024 07:55 AM

It’s pretty clear to me that non certified is everything but a certified motor. Its all up to interpretation but if this were a court case we wouldn’t have a leg to stand on as the writing clearly states “Certified”………

Here's what their website says:

Motors being exchanged must be in working order. Standard motors will be exchanged with a new ROAR-legal Slot Machine 2 motor, while Trinity Team Spec and Certified motors will be reworked with a new ROAR-legal Slot Machine 2 certified stator. Due to the vast amount of customization and specialty that the certified motors offer, we want to ensure customers will keep their custom options and performance.
Clear cut description saying what the replacement process will be. If they've changed from that without warning, you do have a leg to stand on.

Received my email on June 27. It went to spam, just checked. The form is a little concerning because there’s not much detail they are collecting. No reference to certified motors. I would expect to get motorlyser test results with the replacement. Mine were brand new in box. I opened to get measurements from my HW motorlyser, that’s all. I sent them back in the same box.

I kept my Team and Certified motors. I will send those in when they send out the email for them.

To note: I sent back a red rotor with one of my standard motors and they sent my red rotor back to me in a separate piece of bubble wrap. Also to note: The rotors I got in my new motors were 1700/1705 and 1680/1690, I haven't checked the 25.5, but I imagine it will be on the weaker side as well.

I may do a comparison at some point between my V1 Certified 21.5 and the new V2 spec 21.5. Maybe...

Seriously? Their new motors have rotors that barely hit 1700? That's pretty pathetic.

Damn. I thought since I only had submitted for certified motor, that it was an email for certified. I didn’t know there was a generic and a forthcoming certified. What a total loss for me then.

Contact their customer support, there have been others that sent in their certified motors and got back “certified’” motors.

HarryLeach 07-16-2024 05:33 PM

I got my return shipping invoice (no cost) today. According to the listing, they're sending the new motors and old motors back, will see when the box arrives.

I did message CS last week, was told to hang on to my certified motor, that they would send another email later for it.

almxdup 07-16-2024 05:47 PM

Update from 7/4 post. I did get both of my "certified" 13.5's back with new cans but the same rotor, bearings and titanium screws. I didn't even try them, they went straight to be posted for sale and I sold both to the same racer. Hopefully they work out for him as they were both very strong but not legal. Glad to at least gotten something in return.

glad I wasn’t the only one that got crap in a box. I got similar number on the rotor in my replacement motor. Horizon getting rid of all the inventory they inherited in the buyout.
