High amp charging pros/cons
can we go over the most important pros and cons of high amp lipo charging? I keep hearing mixed things about it being bad or actually better for performance, ir, etc., etc.
I have a 4010 charger and would like to put it to good use with the high power that it has, but dont want to kill battery life span or increase ir possibly? if im not sold after this
thread then i guess ill keep charging at 1 or 2c, but really want to charge at 10-15 amps without issue.

15 amps ain't "high amp charging" unless your battery is 900 volts.

Don't make it too complicated, guys.
To repeat the central points:
10-15A is not even considered high amps by most people. Some people get worried once you go above 1C charge rate, but with good quality modern cells and chargers 10-15a is no problem at all. Real high amp charging is beyond 20 or even 30A. And while charging will be over quicker and you'll gain a minimum of punch (which you shouldn't even care or think about unless you're into very high level stock class racing), you'll damage your batteries over time. Definitely not worth doing if you don't know exactly what you're doing and why.

40amps from a 4s lipo for ebuggy is significant.
40amps from a 10 million volt battery is a ton of power.
15amps from any of my Rc's is no big deal. Give or take Rx/Tx packs (1-2amps).

But yet the same amount of power per cell and that is what it is all about! Can one cell safely handle the high charge rating? If one cell can then a 100S battery can also.

15 amps for rc lipos is not high speed or high amp charging. 15 amps or i say about 3c charging is pretty standard slow super safe charging now a days. i would say 30 amps or high is the start of fast charging. Fast charging heats up the battery which lowers internal resistance which gives you more power. the cost is its shortens the life of the batteries but in my opinion its not by much and batteries in generally already last a long enough time.
Personally i have a icharger 458 duo and i love charger all my batteries at 45amps. That's kind of the whole purpose of this charger is to have 1500+watts of available power and to be about to charger at 45 amps. I just like it and like that i can charge my 2s/4s/and 6s batteries in a few minutes.

the only batteries i slow charge at 1c are receiver packs and transmitter batteries. and yes i typical charge my 6000mah -8000mah 2s and 4s batteries at 45amps. I even charge my 5000mah 6s batteries at 45amps. If i'm at a track thats packed racing with 2s lipos and dont want to blow the breaker i sometimes slow charger at 15-20amps.
