Do you have a friend who is handy and can use a soldering iron? If so buy him 6 pack (after the repair!) and have him do what they did in the link in post #2.

There are plenty of people on these forums who even can not solder a simple wire...... But yes, it is not a big task for people who can handle a solder iron.

My daily job is repairing electronics with components as small as 0402 (we do use 0201 in production but hardly there is something wrong with them) and all kinds of chips that needs different solder techniques. I also have an IPC certificate. So yes, I accept the challenge
