I’d like to see a 17.5 sp5 compared to a slot machine. Also interested in the tekin specR2

Well, brother, you just got your wish. I just purchased a new Reedy SP5. Expect to see the video within a couple weeks. I have to wait for it to get delivered.

Have you been testing the rotors too? I don't recall seeing it in the video. I'm wondering how much of the motor difference is simply from the rotor.

I watched the upgrades video you did too and it didn't seem like a big difference in power.

So, you're one of the of the guys that jumps to the end of the video. LOL.... I do the same thing.

Yes, I check the rotor gauss and weight of all the rotors. You will see the numbers on the spreadsheet.

Team Powers Actinium V5 is what all the fast guys use around here.

That's another $125 motor. Maybe I can get lucky and come up on a new one for cheap, like the Reedy SP5. Someone buys one, decides not to run it, then sells it before they use it.

I was installing multiple Fantom Helix RS Works Editions over the long weekend. Threw them on the Tunalyzer to write down the specs for future reference. I had a titanium timing adjustment screw shear off loosening it. The replacement then broken before snugging. After taking of the end bell I could remove the screws with my finger tips. Did you have issues with the timing adjustment screws breaking?

I also rebuilt my Hobbywing V10 G4s. I noticed single shim you referenced in your comparison videos. I was disappointed with the amount of play in the rotor though. I also changed to titanium screws and ceramic bearings. No change in performance for me.

Sorry it took so long. I finally posted the video of rebuilding a brushless motor and showing the performance. I don't have the original numbers, when it was new, but I am told these final numbers are pretty accurate, compared to a new one.

Thank you. I’m watching it throughout the day. One observation is you can use your charger 12V power supply for the Tunalyzer. I built up connectors with 3.5mm bullets to the Tunalyzer and 4mm to the PSU with 12awg Acer wire. It will avoid the voltage drops you had when running load.

That's a good point. I need to see what the amperage is. I have a cheap Hitec RDX1. Never saw a need for a more expensive charger.

I rebuilt 3 HW G4s and 1 HW G3 5.5T recently. I used ceramic bearings and titanium screws in the rebuilds. Similarly, I took before and after measurements. I noticed higher amp draw after the rebuild at the same timing. There were marginal improvements in KV and RPM. My hypothesis is the new bearings had more resistance than the older bearings because of the fresh seals, lube (oil), etc. The other possibility is the new bearings are ever so slightly tighter and need less shimming.

Did you spray out the stator with motor spray / electronic contact cleaner before reassembly? Sorry I may have missed it in the video.

Yes I did. I believe I mentioned that in the video... I think. Not much of anything came out. It was pretty clean.

I just finished filming the tests on this motor. I just have to finish editing it and putting it together. I should have it up soon.
