Default Futaba 3PV Throttle trigger adjustment?

I’m new to the hobby and started into 1/8th Ebuggy. I’ve been using a Futaba 3PV and the response time seems good enough but this throttle trigger is terrible for me. I have to extend my finger out and upwards to break?? Also, the break spot between the throttle and break is a little ambiguous.. is there a way to open up this transmitter and maybe bring the throttle closer in or just add more spring tension maybe? Thanks!

I've seen guys stick foam on the inside of the trigger or put fuel tubing etc to narrow the finger hole. Not sure about the spring though.

Most I see is that the add a small piece of a fuel tube over it.

But I think some more tweaks on the ESC and/or transmitter settings will work.
