Default Futaba 3pk range problems new module.

Hi guys.

Few years ago I bought a futaba 3pk with a spektrum module.
When I was driving on the track, the range became a problem at the end of the straight. I bought a corona module set on Ali and the range is even worse. About 50 meters then it's gone.
Does anyone recognise this problem? Is it possible to fix it or maybe better to buy a new pistol?
Btw my battery is full 12v lipo 3s.

Neither module is known for quality. But you are talking about a 20yr old radio.

I'd buy something from the current Futaba range.

Is this all with one receiver? Do you have another receiver that you can try and compare? I had the 3PK but with the Fasst system, never had an issue. Use the 4PK now and works great.

Dont waste your time trying to figuring out whats wrong , As others have said, you are dealing with a 20+ year old radio and 3rd party hardware. I would cut my loses here and get something more modern.

You can always try to find an original Futaba FASST module but with the total costs you better can go for something new like a 4PV or a 4PM

Thanks for the comments guys.
I have just bought a new 4pm. I was doubting between the Futaba 4pm, Sanwa Mt 5 and flysky Nobel nb4. After seen much reviews I choose the futaba. The Nobel is very nice but I can't accept the death zone and angle difference when steering.
Good choice?

But I have my 3pk completely taken apart now. As technical guy like you are, i can't put it into the bin and forget it.. With the spektrum and the new corona module and reciever it doesn't matter about the range, both are poor. So the problem has to be inside the pistol or connection between the module and pistol. I can't see anything wrong or black stuff on any pcb. Futaba doesn't give any electric schedule or wiring colors. I was hoping someone can help me with this or other advice before I completely trow it away 🤣
Thanks

If it is a voltage glitching it would also happen on other places on the track.

Just seeing this....
I had the same issue with the spectrum setup in my L8 years ago. I thought it was my engine causing frequency issues, changed motors..same place on track, changed receivers..same issue. Come to conclusion it was the spektrum module. Went back the the fm module and is fine. When i hopefully start back racing after a 10 year absence, I'll be using my 3pk. Everyone is on 2.4, so i see no reason to buy another radio.
