Sanwa MT-4S cutting out at short distances.
Hi. I’ve got a problem with my MT-4S cutting out at relatively short range, sometimes less than 40’.
I’ve tried several ESCs, motors, settings, batteries, receivers, bodies, etc. it only happens with my slash drag car (fast or slow) my Slash SCT, or Slash 4x4, or M Chassis cars…no problem.
Everything in the radio is factory fresh.
Any ideas?

Servo is.good. Given all the combinations of components and chassis I’ve tried, it seems the chassis itself could be the issue. Which is completely weird.
My next test will be swapping out the Sanwa receiver and testing with my ancient Spektrum gear.

If you have changed everything on the car side then you have to search it at the transmitter side..... If it is new I can imagine there is something wrong with the antenna.

Very true. Sadly, the radio is far out of warranty at this point. If it was doing this with my other cars, I’d understand. But, even after taking known good receivers and electronics and installing them, no dice.
I’m going to test using my crawler radio. It’s an old, laggy Spektrum. I’ve also got another cheap, backup radio coming.

Oops, saw this a bit later. Before bed last night, I opened the radio. So far, everything looks perfect. Given the radio’s flawless performance in my other cars, I doubted the antenna would be at fault. I now have the task of figuring out the placement of 30 tiny screws.
Thank you, in any case, for your input.

If the same radio/receiver combo works in other cars, it could be interference with your chassis. Is it made of carbon fibre or metal? Are there battery/esc cables that are criss crossing the antenna?
