RC Receiver Checker
#1
Just wanted to share some info on a prototype I've been kicking around for a few months.
It's a portable diagnostic/information tool to measure and display the pulse width and frame rate of an RC receiver.
Did you get the magic combination of radio and receiver settings right? Is the signal position actually centred? Are the end points where you expect them to be? Did you appease the right RC spirits?
Maybe it's a completely frivolous application of my time, but I had fun and learned some stuff building it, as well as trying out some new electronic and 3D design ideas. Home designed PCB and case parts, using both my FDM and MSLA printers (and no screws!).
The video here is rushed and a few things probably explained poorly, but I'm excited to see this thing working. Oh, the software is very spaghetti-like, so could do with some clean-up, yet, it's functional.
Phil.
PS: I have been trying different colours too...

Glad to see another PPM Monitor on the market, I've been using this one here but it's limited to reading only 1 channel at a time and no where near as cool:

I've been using this tool here to input the data from the PPM to calculate the frame rates on my Rx's, many brands of radios don't specify the frame rates which I've noticed they tend to degrade over time as the Rx ages with some brands:
