Hobbywing esc help

Hey guys can anyone tell me if I can run a 1s battery with a Hobbywing xr10 juststock esc?? I'm getting mixed answers. With a 21.5 motor in a wgtr car.

I believe it can be done with a 1S DC-DC Booster
