Need to step up Sanwa or Futaba?
I have a couple of Traxxas RC’s (well technically three now with them XO-1 but that’s still boxed)
About to start a kit build still undecided on Tekno or X-Ray but that’s digressing off this topic.
I have no plans to race in any for of comp it’s just really for down the local track or weekend track events when anything goes (within reason)
Now I’m new to this area but on quick research I’m shocked none of the higher tiers offer anything like TSM or AVC now I won’t say I need it and it’s typically set on the lowest setting but heard many say it’s needed on the XO-1?
Also again something I find odd is none offer any real form of iPhone integration, not sure why they wouldn’t utilise the phone’s display or have an app to adjust the settings, maybe I’m just spoilt with my Traxxas and Castle apps.
So regardless I need a system for my kit and ultimately would like and would make sense to integrate into my other cars.
Budget wise I’d say £400-£500 ($500-$630) and I’d like something good and reliable but don’t need it full to the brim with functions I’ll never use and probably never understand!
Help please

You can always get a standalone gyro to help regardless of what radio you run.

Yes the Sanwa options do look more in the region I’m looking at my go too place has the M12S-RS and the M44 available.
Is it best to look at a gyro from the same company or which brand are deemed the best?
Also is it worth swapping out the servos? I’m running the Traxxas 2255 on my E Revo, the XO-1 has the 2075 and for my kit I haven’t purchased one as yet.

M17 is £464
Thats a transmitter and receiver package, but the more I’m reading into them on here the more something along the lines of M12S-RS or MT44 is more suited and anything above is overkill.. but then I don’t really want to get down the line and regret it later.
Any advice on gyros?

The XO-1 ESC has a communication with the receiver, not sure if you can connect anything different. If so you will loose the telemtry option and still I do not know if that will also unlock the speedrange the XO-1 has. Normally you do need an Apple device to unlock yje 100mph range.

One mistake I made early was not switching to better radio. Not that I’ve had many problems with simple RTR controllers. More, it would have been more convenient then having around 70 controllers currently.
By the time I did it would have been over $1,000 in receivers alone.
Those driving aids are not legal for racing. That’s why most don’t have them. You can add gyro if wanted. But I’ve personally never liked them. I do own a few that came with it. But I’ve turned it off. Don’t like how it alters driving., even at low settings.
I’m currently trying a Futaba 4pls. It’s been a bad start. Having problems getting receiver to bind. But finally got one. Controller feels fine. But I’m not picky

futaba receivers are also significantly cheaper than sawa receivers.

I love my FlySky NB4. Telemetry, pretty much zero latency, high framerate, touchscreen, the battery lasts forever... I've been very impressed with it and everyone always wants to check it out at the track.
The fact that FlySky CS is great is also a big plus.
