Default Rx antennas

Ok so since I treat everything like trash I destroyed some rs antennas. I was going to cut shielding back, but opened up the rx and the solder points are easy to access. Does anyone know of a place to source antenna wiring for spektrum rx?

Did you try to google it?

Non BS answer: The model number matters, some use normal wire and some use actually antenna wire.

Thread on RCtech about replacing the wire.

Not very nice Darkgenerals. Just answer his question without poking at him.

Anytime you have a question about anything, first thing to do is "Google it" I don't think Darkgenerals was poking at him.
Anyway, try E-bay. Friend of mine bought a bag of 20 wires for $10. They were the snap-on kind for Futaba and possibly others as well. Worth checking out.

If you are able to solder a new wire then just try to get an antenna wire in this thin size. The local radioshack could help you. On the other hand if we knew the receiver model number we could look with him for a replacement. And yes, using google with "REPLACEMENT ANTENNA [MODEL RECEIVER]" could give some hits or for sure other antenna's you could use to make it fit.

I don't think I would trust putting a piece of Radio shack wire on a receiver that controls an very expensive R/C car. These new receivers i.e. ones made in the last 10 years have a coax antenna that is replaceable on spektrum, however I'm not sure about other brands. Don't screw around and crash a car trying to save $5.Just my 2 cents.

Maybe you should read how everyone said the model number matters, because some use regular wire, and some use antenna wire. Also have you heard about radio shack? Because I have some really bad news for ya.

Thats what I'm saying don't put some crappy piece of wire use the proper antenna and Yes I know Radio shack is defunct.Maybe you should read and interpret before replying.

And this is a typical reaction as many people on this forum. You think you know it all but actually with this post you show that you have no clue how it really is. You really think the antenna wire is something special made from golden locks weaved by elves at full moon? Wake up and see it is just an every day cheap wire. With older receivers just a simple wire and with later receivers a coax cable.

If you found solder holding the wire to the board then it's single stranded wire. You can buy it from most hobby stores. Here is some backordered stuff from Tower. If you search you can find some somewhere.

COAX antennas use a push connector and can be replaced without soldering with replacement antennas like this:

Really, if it is a plain wire you can use all kind of stuf like a wire from a piece of telephone cable, an old floppy flatcable or a wire from an old broken servo.

The coax is not always a plug but as long no model is mentioned we can not look with TS to see what is arround. But if the coax is soldered you can cut off the connector, strip it short and solder it to the PCB.
