What is the best / cost effective charger out there now for 1 and 2s lipos? I'm planning on running 1/10 F1 and WGTR-- the new lipos are capable of being charged at high amp rates? Looking for AC/DC capability.

What have you done to find some options by yourself?

There are so many chargers on the market and plenty of models sold with different brand names that there is plenty to choose from.

I"ve neen looking -- but back in my day--we could only charge lipos at about 3-5 amps! Now I understand they can go 20 amps!! That's WAY different!! Looking for best cost option--and WHICH one is best.

i have one of these and find it to be better than my more expensive hitec charger. only had it a year so your results may vary

Just because you can charge at that high of an amp doesn't mean that you should or need to. I always balance charge my batteries at 1c (5amp for 5000mah) and have never lost a race because of it. Heres the charger I use.

That I did not know but to be honest, these kind of questions are to me a lack of own search. All chargers do CC/CV that there is no difference, all he needs to do is visiting some sites for something within his range and compare the specs and prices.

Yes you can charge at greater than 5 amps.. but there has been chargers on the market that could charge at more than 1 c for 8 years +

Thanks guys--that's helpful. I've been out of electric racing since 2012. I was racing 1/5 scale-- not much use for lipo's there.

Problem with an AC/DC charger is the rated wattage and charge rates are usually only possible with an external DC power supply. The I-charger 308 duo is great and charges up to 30 amps but is pricey. The ISDT Q6 isn't bad for the money but is limited to 14 amps on a 2s pack.

Walk through the pits at my local track and you will see a bunch of ichargers. 308, 406, 4010. I personally use a 308, but wish I would have got the 406 only because the discharge rate is higher. Mind you, these chargers are pricey, and if you are going to use them for discharging over 10 amps you will also need to buy or build a discharge bank.

I did say most, not all. It does look like this can handle two 2s packs at 20 amps simultaneously. Some racers do go higher than that, 30-40 amps.

Do your self a favor an get an icharger DUO

As said above, I agree and suggest the icharger 406. Save money buying right the first time.
