Motor Sensor Cable Removal
#1
We've all damaged a couple of sensor cables by pulling too hard on the sensor wire. That said, I came up with an easy method to remove the sensor and preventing any damage to the wires. Check out the video on how to carefully remove a sensor cable.

I just use a small flat head screw driver to pop the plug out of the socket. Just wedge the screw driver on the short side of the plug, and twist. I don't think you could use your method when the motor is in the car. Also, some motors have the sensor wire oriented in a way that won't allow your method.
Definitely better than pulling on the wires though.

I once had a sensor wire that was gummed up with a bunch of rubber tread shavings from an on-road car, and I pulled so hard that it removed the connector right off the circuit board from the ESC! I've since learned the importance of regular cleaning with an air compressor to blow any debris around all my electronics no matter how harmless it may appear.
