Traditionally we have always sold the replacement 1st gear packs in a 3 pack because chances are if a racer is managing to strip the first gear on the track, then he will probably succeed in doing it again at some point. Despite this, we still hardly ever sell 1st gears for any of our servos, and I dare say because most of our servo users are actually airplane guys..

Some of the cheaper savox servos state they use metal but they are actually brass gears. It's kind of a gimmick, and I agree that they shouldn't use the word metal.

I had noticed that the grease in the gears was all black and gritty, I almost wonder if it would've been a better preventative to regularly clean the gears and re-grease them, thinking that might allow them to last longer. The servo on the right is a brand new donor servo for a fresh set of gears and fresh grease.

I have servos that are probably old enough to drive by now, I have never seen a gearset get that worn out.
