1/8 Buggy Servo - Specs vs. Performance

To me, servos are hit and miss, when I first got into club racing about 7 years ago, I was told Savox was the best balance between price and performance, but after a couple of years of use I was very disappointed to learn that they don't offer long term service and won't make any repairs nor do they offer any trade in program for damaged servos outside warranty. Although I still have a few Savox servos that are 7+ years old, some I've bought used... I don't typically support the brand anymore and have gravitated in other directions as I feel their price point is too high to be considered disposable.
I first went with a higher quality Radiopost who offered service repairs outside warranty and that was really nice, however I stopped supporting that brand after stripping my 3rd gear set within a year... ironically the brand is all but dead currently. Really a shame they couldn't fix the small design flaws in both their servos and radios, otherwise they could still be an industry leader.
So then I went in a complete opposite direction and sought out budget brands that were decent and still within a disposable price point. After many rounds of disappointment with various budget brands, I've grown to trust PowerHD (also rebranded through Turnigy) for my 1/10 cars and for my 1/8 electric buggy and truggy, I've settled on JX brushless servos with solid aluminum cases. I've got about a year on one JX servo in my buggy without any issues, best $45 I ever spent! Same servo is also in my truggy, and it actually stripped a gear after 10 months of racing, I found a cheaper $15 servo to scrap compatible gears from it since they don't sell gear replacement sets individually and this strategy has been working very well for me.

I’m not sure wether the 7px is faster on not. I personally don’t worry any of that. There are very few people on the planet who can actually tell in a real world scenario. I prefer the way the throttle feels on a futaba over the sanwa. The steering has been improved significantly over the 4px as well, so the two companies are closer than ever in comparison.

I would love to pick another one up, but they are hard to find used and to costly new.
