Dear Grand Prix 2 Racers,
On Saturday March 14 there is an Open Practice day in preparation for the Grand Prix 2 race event. You were notified about the practice day on Friday March 6.
Important notices:
The track facility opens at 8:00 am. Remember to bring your own power table and chair. We simply do not have enough power to power everyone. So if you have power bring it.
There is a $5.00 practice fee for non-Tamiya cars.
Since I expect a lot of people I am mandating controlled practice Tee Times. The Practice Tee Times begin at 10:00 am sharp! It’s open practice up until 10:00 am.
The Tee Time schedule may be viewed, downloaded and printed from the schedule tab of the event website. http://www.rccarevents.com/event_det...?event_id=2325
There are a total of 8 rounds of controlled practice. If you miss one it’s not a big deal. Make sure you are prepared to run during the allotted times. I grouped the classes in the following manner:
TC 17.5 & GT-10
TC 13.5
TC Mod
Mini & F1
Basic rules of practice:
1. No more than 11 cars on the track at one time.
2. Since the Tee Times are in 15 minute increments, you run for 5 minutes and you are to pull off the track and give the next group of guys in your grouping their chance to practice. There is no good reason to run longer than 5 minutes during your session.
3. When you pull off the track, you are to turn marshal the drivers that follow you. Driver marshaling will keep practice flowing and prevent catastrophic accidents.
Lastly, I will have the scoring computer up and running. If you did not supply me your personal transponder number during registration please email me the number before the weekend. I will work with “OurLaps” to tie my scoring computer to his lap time broadcast APP. The app may be downloaded from the Apple App Store or on the Google Play store for free.
Have a great week!

More than a thank you !
So much to say so little time! 1st , great race, the competition is really tight from the unexpected in all classes. Very very entertaining mains. Lots of cheering from racers all, nice experience for all. This truly is the Dizzyland of RC tracks! Personally, the RC gremlins were not nice to me and my electronics , smoked ESC, motor and glitches in controller , but fun racing with old and new friends,
Thank you Fred for obvious reasons, Rod and Edgar's help preping track, to all the racers for their patience with blowing circuit and lowering your charge rate, to Tom K, for not so obvious reasons, Mr. Mendoza and family, amazing street tacos, Kevin for staying late to clean up , last to all the racers for staying positive and focused on the big picture, having fun. It's all of you that will determine the future of club races at Tamiya track. enough said!
Just my 2$
