Just a reminder, next month is the race. Talked to a few guys from MD (Coliseum) and they said they will be heading down. I'll find out more info this weekend on race fee's and classes. So I'll keep ya posted.

Hey Jimmy! What tires are working at the track now? 27's? 32's? I have yet to run on "yall's" track, so i would like to come somewhat prepared.

- DaveW

BTW: What is the cost for the warmup race?

John Tag 08-23-2005 06:11 AM

If the weather is like it should be, then cs32, or rp36. MAYBE (extreme hot weather) rp40's. We have had some blistering days so far, but you never know what sept 17 brings. But cs32's would be the overall safest best if you only wanted one kind.

imprsme 08-23-2005 07:00 AM

I hate to be the one to stir the pot( Yeah right) But if this is being advertised as a "nats Warm-up" Why are we not running spec CS-27's??? Isn't that the spec tire for the Nats?

Why are we even discussing 32,36, 40's and even RP tires? Whn you get to Fla. you want have those options...

John Tag 08-23-2005 07:04 AM

I do agree to cs27's  Let's just do it now so people can prepare!

Brandon Melton 08-23-2005 07:57 AM

I thought the same thing. Glenn mentioned that we haven't used 27's all year and that he didn't want the guys to have to "go out and buy new tires for one race", but when I thought about it, nobody has been using pre glue anyway, it's all custom glue, so any preglues will have to be bought.

I guess it's up to JMac really, we all know he's the only one that has any pull with Glenn and the promoting of races. Bottom line is, I'll run whatever just need to know now :D .

imprsme 08-23-2005 08:01 AM

Yeah if its 27's I need to place an order..... LOL That was one reason I was asking.. :D

xDeeDubYax 08-23-2005 09:50 AM

Good point. If it is to be considered a warmup race, then the tires "should" be the preglued CS27's. Im all for a controlled tire race! I couldnt be at the Coliseum this past weekend, so I look forward to being in NC and runnin with youse guys.

- DaveW

KT: Round two of drafting class?

JimmyMac 08-23-2005 06:28 PM

Okay, I'll bring it up with Glenn. He's closed tomorrow. So I'll try my best to get up with him Thursday and talk it over with him. I guess the sooner the better so people can prepare and get some CS27's (if that is truely the spec tire for the Nats).

Any other comments on this? Yes? No? Don't care?? hehe..

Anyways, for club racing.. it's been Sorex 36's for me. I'm sure 40's would be nice too with all this 90+ heat we've been having. Track temp 140+.

Hope to catch yall soon.

John Tag 08-23-2005 06:56 PM

CS 27 are the Hand out tire for the nats,Yea there are a lot of tires that work well just be nicer to see EVERYBODY on the same tire/Insert/rim

xDeeDubYax 08-25-2005 07:16 AM

Just bring yourself. There are indoor pits with tables/chairs and electric. Pit indoor, race outdoor.

I wouldn't mind coming on the 16th, but we bought concert tickets a while back and the show is that Friday night. I will be there on the third to get my cs27 practice. By the looks of it, that is what everybody wants. The way I see it, it already looks a a "gentlemens agreement" type thing shaping up.

may want to bring a fan

Brandon Melton 08-25-2005 06:31 PM

Well, the track owner says he is leaving it as any tire you want to run on the 17th.

John Tag 08-25-2005 06:42 PM

MUST be a premount

Jimmy :sneaky:

JimmyMac 08-26-2005 12:37 AM

Well Brandon, you can throw me into the Gentleman's agreement. I'll only run the CS27 premounts too. I think I'll start this weekend if I can find a new set. This'll make my life easier for now. (No more magic tires Anthony :( ) Catch yall there.

Ortiz 08-26-2005 03:11 AM

Im in on the 27's. I wish we could run those all year long.

Your right Tag, tire wars suck bigtime!!!

kt racing 08-26-2005 12:44 PM

27's for me.
KT

Brandon Melton 08-31-2005 02:43 PM

Weather looks great for the 3rd for club racing. Should be fast guys at the wood this weekend.

JMac- Since you look like your not going to nats, wanna run some mod this weekend for fun, whatever tire. Beasley looks like a possible for Sunday for mod also, you gonna make Durham Sunday with us as well?

JimmyMac 08-31-2005 05:53 PM

Mod? What's that? haha. I'll run whatever you want. Not sure yet on Durham. Depends if I have a vistor this weekend or not. Plus I was gonna drive up to Boston this weekend. But I don't really feel like it. Holiday+Traffic+gas prices+11 hour drive= pain in the arse.

Anyways, you talking about Mod at Durham? Or Mod at Rosewood? Or both? Would be interesting to see how a plastic car handles Mod.. :D Let me know so I can get the right setup on the right car. Or else I'm stuck running Stock.

Don't quite rule me out for the Nats just yet.. hehe... ;)

Brandon Melton 08-31-2005 06:02 PM

Mod at wherever we can get enough for a class, lol. Either or both.

xDeeDubYax 09-02-2005 09:25 AM

Hey guys, unless this gas thing gets under some level of control, i am definitely not going. Its 3.50 a gallon here, and they say it will get worse before better. Thats over 100$ that weekend just in gas. :flaming:

- DaveW

imprsme 09-02-2005 10:13 AM

What are you driving? LOL Its 2hrs for me and I can go and come back home and go back to Durham 1hr. away and Home again on 1 tank of gas!

So 15 gallons at $3.50 a gallon is $53.

And I am driving a 315 hp V-8 Cobra!

Ride with KT and it shouldn't cost ya more than $40 bucks in gas.

But I feel your pain! I am staying over to race this Sunday because getting a room is cheaper than gas!!!!!

But that is what happens when we have a "Gas Man" for Pres.

Brandon Melton 09-02-2005 11:14 AM

Don't get me started on the president, lol. :flaming: :flaming: :flaming:

Anyhow, like Anthony said, ride with KT.

xDeeDubYax 09-02-2005 11:17 AM

Last time i went to Durham it was a 4 hour ride. 60 mph X 4 = 240 miles... one way. Admittedly my car doesnt have the power yours does, but with the A/C all i get is 300 a tank (15 gallons). No A/C gives me 400. So basically i would need one and a half tanks minimum to go round trip, assuming i drive nowhere else (who needs food), PLUS hotel. So thats 80$ in gas, $80 on a room, and god knows what on food. The only really good thing id be missin out on is hangin out with the guys. I can turn laps here, save $200, get a home cooked meal, and stay in my own bed... with the wife! :sneaky:

Sorry fellas... the curvaceous splendor wins.

- DaveW

imprsme 09-02-2005 11:19 AM

Brandon you got PM

imprsme 09-02-2005 11:19 AM

Dave- LOL

xDeeDubYax 09-02-2005 11:20 AM

Yeah... dont get started on the prez. I think we all would love to biotch slap him once or twice. Ridin with KT might not be a bad idea... i just havent talked to him about it yet. I just hate inviting myself. Well see.

- DaveW

Brandon Melton 09-02-2005 11:21 AM

Hotel? it's a one day race

Not mention Rosewood is 60 miles closer than Durham, but your call

xDeeDubYax 09-02-2005 11:23 AM

Yeah, i thought friday was practice, and saturday was the race. I was gonna roll up friday am, practice, and stay in the hotel that night. Is noone going to be there for practice friday?

Brandon Melton 09-02-2005 11:25 AM

There will be people there (none of the crowd that comes to Debbies), but the track is easy to get the hang of.

xDeeDubYax 09-02-2005 11:26 AM

Well fudge.

Brandon Melton 09-05-2005 09:29 AM

Pertaining to our conversation at Logans, does someone need to find the cheapest place to order the spray, so it can be shipped or purchased before the 17th? I have a 2 gallon chem sprayer I can bring, it lays a wide path of spray. Only thing is i can't be there Friday, so I could only help Saturday if someone else could spray Friday. It seemed to be unanimous at Logans except for Glenn (which he wasn't asked), could Jimmy or someone mention it to him?

Obviously the straights do not need to be sprayed, shouldn't take too much to get everything else done.

JimmyMac 09-05-2005 09:58 AM

I dunno, I thought Anthony could get the VHT? I'll have to swing by Glenns shop tomorrow and ask him if we can. I'll give ya a call after I do.

Entry fee is $20. Start racing at 1pm on Saturday. See yall there.

Brandon Melton 09-05-2005 10:21 AM

I think he knows where to order from, but would need to know to have it shipped. Give me a ring when you find out. Obviously the racers will throw in just a few bucks each.

Brandon Melton 09-05-2005 10:25 AM

Bada-bing, here ya go, just doesn't say what to cut it with.

imprsme 09-05-2005 01:29 PM

I can get it WAY CHEAPER THAN THAT!!!!
