2009 Gulf Coast Grand Prix

These pictures are dated and, while they do show the layout quite honestly do not do justice to the way the track looks in its current form.
The biggest improvement to the track is how smooth it is, I am sure racers will greatly appreciate being able to run a 4 mm ride height without scratching the bottom of the chasis.
Also if you notice the 180 degree turns across town are not as sharp allowing better flow. Overall the track is about 0.5 to 1 second slower, primarily becasue of the two chicanes that were added, but it is certainly more fun to drive.
Hope to see you all in Houston soon.

To all intersted;
We have two local racers that have committed to post some updated pictures of the track. However, if you have been looking at the national weather you would realize that we have been getting ALL of the rain that we missed out on the last six months (area watering restrictions have finally been lifted). The guys have been waiting for a sunny day in order to get some quality pictures for all to see. It should also be noted that the infield color has not yet been added but will be after the first of the year in time for the Pre-Worlds. Additional touch up work will be done after the Pre-Worlds in final preperation for the Worlds. Keep an eye out for the picuters later this week as the forecast is clearing up on TUE.
Keep sending in those entries,
Roger

Sorry all,
Still raining down here in Houston. Pics maybe a while longer.
Here is a thought, maybe we can change the event to a boat race! Nah, it will clear up and the sun will shine again. Be patient with our volunteer photogrphers.
Thanks,
Roger
