Gulf Coast Raceway is the home of the upcoming 2010 IFMAR 200mm Fuel Sedan World Championship

Come race where the World Champion will be crowned

Classes Offered
200mm Fuel Sedan
200mm Fuel Sedan Masters
1/8th Fuel 4WD Open
1/8th Fuel 4WD Masters
Both of the MASTERS classes are dependent on a minimum of 10 entries in the respective class
Electric Open Mod 4WD TC

Electric World GT 2 WD Pan Car

Electric classes have a minimum of 10 entries per class. Electric class rules are listed below.


Race Format
Open Practice on THU
Rocket Round Qualifying - 2 on FRI - 3 0n SAT
All Finals on SUN

Fees
$40 per class entry
$20 per pit space - Includes table, electricity,overhead cover, lights

  • Classes entered - $40 per entry
  • Frequency or DSM
  • PT number
  • ROAR membership number and expiration date (will be verified with ROAR)
  • Number of Pit spaces you are paying for - $20 per space

Upon receiving your email entry (Must include all of the above information) you will be sent a confirmation email within one day with an invoice and instructions on how to pre-pay for your entry. The instructions will give you the option to pay by check or credit card.

ELECTRIC CLASS RULES:
Open Mod 4WD TC
ROAR rules for pavement include: rubber tires only, (suggested minimum 5400 mA-h 2s LiPo), Exception includes: 1425 gram minimum.

World GT, Petit Lemans 2 WD Pan car.
ROAR World GT rules apply. Exceptions: Novak 10.5 spec motor, Orion 3800 spec battery, 42 ounce minimum, any 1/10 pan foam front tire.

Fuel will be available at the hobby shop which is located trackside. You may want to contact the hobby shop in advance and arrange for fuel to be reserved. The local hobby shop phone number will be in the confirmation email. Come and enjoy all of the major improvements that the track owner has made; New larger and smoother track surface; Improved and more challanging layout; Larger full service snack bar; And much more.

The three major races to be held at Gulf Coast Raceway prior to the pre-worlds in February are:

Sept 26 & 27 ==> Southwest Championship Series Race #6
Oct 10 & 11 ==> Region 9 Regionals
Nov 6, 7 & 8 ==> Gulf Coast Grand Prix

Come on out and try the new track surface and start test & tuning your sedan for the worlds. Hope to see many you in Houston soon.

I will be stopping at the track on my way home from work. I will take pics of the new track and post them when I get to the house.
This track is super smooth and very fun. Gulf Coast Raceway has done one hell-of-a-job with it.

Thanks for helping out. It should be pointed out that there is still some cosmetic work to complete but the layout is likely to stay unchanged through the Worlds.

Is the scoring for this event going to be Rocket round or Qual points? Just wondering because I won't be able to make it on Friday (due to work) but can make it for the weekend. If it goes by Qual points, it is no use for me to participate due to it being detrimental to my standings missing that Friday. Please advise.
