Over the summer "The C " will be conducting a series of "Enduro" races:
-First up will be "THE FREDERICK 120". This will be a 120 minute race on Sunday , 17 May 2009
for Vintage Trans Am Cars. Start time Noon. One car with teams of 2 or 3 drivers. (same rules as currently being discussed)
- Next will be the "2.4 hours of Le Mans".
This race will be a 2.4 hour/144 minute race, held on Sunday , 28 June. (same day as the full sized 24 Hours of Le Mans). This race will be for any road race cars up to 235mm in width , using ROAR approved batteries and ROAR approved 21.5 , 17.5 or 13.5 motors. 1 /10th and 1/12th pan cars as well as Touring Cars and VTA are eligible for this race.
- On Sunday July 12 we'll hold "THE LONGEST DAY" . This will be a 3 hour event.
In addition to "ROAR Legal" cars , this race may include the running of "Senior Spec and Minis" . "Traffic" will be an issue.
General rules:
- ROAR Vintage Trans Am rules in effect.
- The same driver on a team, CANNOT be driving the first and last 5 minutes of the race,
(eliminates the "hired gun" starting and finishing the race)
- Each team is responsible for providing a turn marshal, from its "off duty" drivers. Providing a "race announcer" counts as one of the turn marshal positions.
- All battery changes/repairs must be made in the pit area, not on the track.
- A "pit in/out" area will be designated. All cars must enter /exit the racing surface from this
pit lane.
2009 NO! Enduro series...
- NO brushed motors,
- NO "flashlight batteries",
-NO minimum weight,
- NO minimum ride height
-NO excuses for not turn marshalling (NO laps counted for team without turn marshal present).
