Awesome Isaac, we have another spec racer.
The Spec class will be joining the winter point series starting nov 22. 8 week series with (2) throw outs.
We will be running spec with the kit tires, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 . After that we will be running kit tires and the addition of HPI X-patterns . Race compound belted and non-belted, ( Part no#'s 4495 and 4490) The 4490 are cheaper and work great. With are lower speeds the belted tire are not really needed. But if you already have belted or the D compound ones thats great run'em. But if you are going to buy tire for this class we recommend the 4495 or 4490.
These tires are 26mm just like the Tamiya kit tires . They work nice on tamiya rims and all of the 26mm on-road rims made by HPI.
This gives everyone a month to prepare there tires for the point series.

That's right Senior spec loaner cars are ready ,we will have two loaner for Nov.1 and Nov. 8
I know some of you are getting your cars ready. So if anybody is thinking of racing this weekend , let us know here on this thread.
If your interested in Spec here are the rules
1) All cars are Tamiya TT-01 or TT-01E.
2) Hop-up's allow:
a. Ball bearings
b.Any Oil filled shocks and springs (we like Tamiya #50746 #50519 or #53619)
c. Turnbuckle steering tie-rods (Tamiya part #53662)
d. aluminum drive shaft (Tamiya part #53620 or #54026).
3) Gearing will be FIXED- kit 19t pinion and 61t spur
4) Kit tires: Tamiya Racing Radials (part #50419) , racing slicks #50454 or semi slicks #50810, Any wheels and inserts are ok. ( There will be a spec tire change to HPI X-patterns part no# 4495 and 4490, Nov.22) FOR NOW kit tires !
5) Any brand of 1/10 scale coupe or sedan body (please- no trucks, GTP, LeMans or F1 bodies).
6) Batteries are all 7.2 volts. They can be 6-cell- nicads or 6-cell nimhs, and Lipo's Team Orion carbon edition 2400, 3200 or 3400 with a charged voltage of 8.44 or less.
7) Your choice of electronics.
8) No weight minimum, but don’t lighten the car chassis or parts because that’s not allowed. Feel free to add weight in order to balance the car if you’re going to use a lipo pack.
9) Qualifying heats will be 6 minutes long. All Mains will be 8 minutes, with a bump-up for the winner of each lower Main ( that's right more time on the track)
10) Here’s the best part: motors will be Blind Draw Red Dot 15K’s and they are provided for the race free of charge. All motors are certified to be within 1% of each other and have plenty of power. Pull one out of the box for your race and return it at the end of the evening…or maybe we’ll swap them around again for the Mains. Also feel free to run clip-on heat sinks( the tamiya one is #53664) . Remember that the motor must be returned at the end of the evening. If you leave with a spec motor you’ll owe us a $45.00 replacement fee.

Glad to see you joining the party, Isaac! I'm amazed at the number of racers- both new and experienced- who are interested in this class. Just goes to show that you don't have to spend big bucks in order to have BIG FUN AND CLOSE RACING!

We will be changing the layout on Thursday the 30th of October after 5pm. If anybody can help please let me know. All you need to bring is yourself (if you have a power screwdriver that'll help too). Richard does offer a free $15.00 race entry for all those that help. The change usually only takes a couple hours.
Thanks,
Casey

...and, as it turns out, the 'zecutive version of the TT01 is still available- see pic below. Full bearings, servo, new built and never run, just waiting for your battery, radio, body and speed control. We can hook you up with a body if you need one. Still just $90, will be at the C on the 1st.

This Sat....
Glad to hear not everyone is at the Gate... I'm going to try to make it down on Sat to do a little "prep" work too. Now, if I can just find that set-up sheet?
