I've seen one 1/8 nitro off road race. I just didn't get it

It might be slower, but the sound of the engine is pretty stimulating. I did it for a little, but the maintenance was too much for me.

I will race on any surface I don't care what it is. I wanna race.
I will say clay is NOT dirt. Comparing clay to loose dirt tracks is a joke and like night and day.
Clay is clay. Is it easy or good on tires? No. Does it pay the track owners bills when we all buy new tires? yes. LOL
win/lose. Eye of the beholder.

Since they're kinda liquid cooled, they can run for an hour nonstop. My ebuggy motor would be a puddle of slag after an hour.

Great for ouutdoor practice days. No waiting for a motor to cool.

I enjoy both. The nitro only comes out at big races....if I have an entourage to pit for me.

If you were running it for an hour, wouldn't you regear your ebuggy or put in a different motor so it doesn't run so hot?

If it's the sound of the engine you find stimulating watch nitro on road

call me crazy, but i can actually watch nitro on road. electric on road on the other hand is boring AF. the nitro cars don't seem as precise and move around a little more. keeps things just interesting enough

Call me old fashioned, but I can happily watch an hour long nitro Buggy or Truggy race.

There's so much that can change the outcome of a race. Fuel strategy. Flameouts. Weather. Big jumps can go horribly wrong.

Awesome stuff to watch, even better to actually do.

Yeah I miss our local 8th scale buggy track. It closed a little over 10 years ago. Business wasn't the issue. They had racers and new comers in the store buying bashers. The owner was just ready to move states.

It was mostly nitro guys, but the few ebuggy guys would run with them. It was funny watching a race and spotting a random buggy zip pass without any noise coming from it.

Too slow. It would be worthless practice.

Ebuggy races are limited to 8 min, with 5 min Q's for a reason.
