I found this in an Australian RC Drift page. Its the ABC hobby 240z shell. I just couldnt help myself, but to think how good it would look with BRE colors or an old Bob Sharp paint job on it. Not legal, but would be fun at one of the more relaxed VTA events.

I'm currently building up a USVTA car in an attampt to hopefully get the class started local as there is a new track that might be good to run VTA on. I still need wheels, tyres, and batteries.
Just done the body which is far from perfect.

Colours are based on my normal racing colours from my Tourers.

The HPI VTA shells have nice undercuts and tight corners as they translate from the shape of the actual cars they represent. However its a bear to mask if you are trying to put a lot of differrent colors together. Usually a Mustang will be painted with just a couple of Shelby stripes or the stripe that drops off the hood at an angle. Either way the shell doesnt lend itself well to the style of paint job you see on a stratus.
Good luck with your efforts to start a VTA class. Usually the best thing to do is build a car and start practicing with it. Other locals will see that and those that are interested will prep a car just like you are doing. Soon you will have what you need to start a class at your local track.

Very nice bodies guys!
What are some good templates to use for masking out numbers? I like the design I saw where there was a black trim line across the side of a body, and the number was in the middle of the line, same color as the line but with no white circle.

That reminds me of a Mad Max interceptor shell that I think Somebodies UK used to make. In the states thats about as close as most of us ever get to Aussie Muscle.
That and a Pontiac GTO which is basically a Holden.

I do know of a club in Aus that is running Trans Am, but it ain't the VTA rules as they are only restricted to pre-1980 bodies.
