I didn't put nearly as much paint detail into mine when I did it...

But I still LOVE IT!

The color looks pretty close to the original. Nice work!

I had one of these when I was MUCH younger. It was a great car and I regret selling it. This was fun to paint but I have yet to get it on the track.

Thanks everyone - I was disappointed with the outcome of the Gold Tamiya Spray Can - Doesn't look anything like the lid at all, but other than that I think it looked pretty sweet going around the track this past weekend!

The Tamiya PS-13 Gold rattle can is very translucent and looks too yellow for my tastes.

On the other hand, the Tamiya PS-14 Copper looks really good.

Pactra used to make a gold paint that I preferred over the Tamiya. Not sure if the Testors One Coat Lacquer Inca Gold would work on an RC body. It is Lacquer based, so it should stick but it probably wouldn't bond very well. (EDIT: was confirmed in post below that it will work. Thanks mooby64)

I've been tempted to try some Rustoleum 2x rattle can paint for plastics on an r/c car body. I should pick up a cheap body and do a one color bomb and see how it handles racing on the track.

I talked to someone from Testors, after they discontinued the Pactra paints, and was told the One Coat Lacquer paints WILL WORK on Lexan.

My retired Parma 70 Cuda, painted to match the 70 Cuda my brother owned with his fav drivers numbers. (Dan Gurney).

I used Creatix copper and backed it with black.

The body can take a good beating too. I had the trunk caved in during a race by another car. Finished the race and didn't even have a handling issue. Popped the lexan back out and didn't even have a scratch on the paint.

Here is a McAllister #304 1970 Bow Tie Trans AM.

It looked really good on track and received a lot of compliments last night. Although a few guys gave the owner of the car some friendly ribbing about the long body posts

I tried Krylon Fusion and it flaked off in chunks, so you can rule that one out.
I thought someone posted that Duplicolor worked, but I haven't tried it yet.
