I prefer the driver mounted to the body. Attaching it to the chassis would get in the way of basic maintenance. At least, that's my reasoning.

First I tried a Losi SCB driver 'cause I happened to have one:

This is how I mounted it:

I thought it looked great, but it made it too complicated to corner balance the car properly with all the weight up high and on one side. So I picked up an RJ Speed interior. Same weight, but evenly distributed left/right. I just use double sided tape to tape the dash to the underside of the hood, trim out holes for the rear body posts, and double side tape the rear to the underside of the trunk. Here's a pic on my short-lived Firebird. This interior has been in a bunch of VTA bodies over the last year and a half.

If you want better pics, let me know and I can grab some for you...

Here's a picture of my VTA Driver mounted to the chassis using a few pieces of antenna tube as "legs".

thanks - that gives me a couple ideas...

I used the McAllister driver and cut it down to just the steering wheel, arms, upper torso,e tc. and used a piece of 5/16 delrin about 2 3/4 in. tall and mounted it to the chassis. (If it gets in the way of anything, there's just one screw..and it's off and out of the way.)

*Cool* Bobby Allison paint!

Now, if that had been on the Pegasus '70 1/2 Camaro or the RJSpeed Nova - and had "Neil Who?" on the door - it would be *right*

By the way...RJSpeed *does* make a '69 Torino Talladega body - close to the Cyclone. It *is* a legal "U.S. Vintage Stock Car" body

I wonder how much it would cost to 3d print a driver figure. Also it would be cool if someone could 3d print a scale pit crew.

I saw a place in a mall by me once that uses a 3D scanner to make a "copy" of you and can then 3D print your likeness on to a number of novelty type items. I'm sure they could turn you into a driver figure but I never inquired about the cost.

I've seen that javelin body some place before

sadly, it still looks nice - the front end just isn't as attached at it was in that pic

Hi,

unfortunately we don't have this racing class over where I live, but would these bodies and wheels fit my Tamiya TT-01? Just for fun I might build one...

Cheers,

Hugo
