NorCal goes by the VTA rules. The Oddball is winning races because he's a better driver. As far as I can see his car is 100% legal. Oh, and the class is growing so it doesn't appear that anyone is staying away.

we have on Oddball that is a pro sponsored driver that laps everyone using a $800 sedan Asmomatrix. Some racers are shying away since the have NO CHANCE to win.

What do you guys think?
I Think VTA is one of The Coolest Classes around - Chances are if the guy in question is as good as you describe - he'd hand most people their butts w/ a $99.00 Clone kit too.

You can't beat SMOOTH with anything but Smoother. I'd look at his lap times, don't look at the SECONDS, because I'd bet if he's Smooth - the seconds are pretty much ALL the same, probably don't even look at the .1's, but go all the way to the .01's to get an idea what kind of variance he's getting.

To criticize a guys reasons for wanting to run in a class that's billed as one of the MOST FUN Classes to race in is crazy - He's a RACER and a R/C Guy - and there must be something in the class he either finds FUN and/or CHALLENGING - Strive to beat your own personal BEST lap times and consistency - because if your WINNING solely because your competition SUCKS - is it really WINNING?

Good point, SWTour, and that's how I feel, as well. I'd rather lose to a really good driver than beat a bunch of no-driving hacks.

But guys, this thread is for pics. This would be a better topic for the general VTA thread: http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...-part-2-a.html

Thumbs up Trans Am Down Under

VTA isn't run in New Zealand but a neighboring club to mine ran a "Muscle Car Cup" on the weekend open to any American 60's or 70's Muscle Car with motor limit set at 21.5 Turn Boosted.
I decided to do a "Barn Find" version of Pedro Rodriguez' Shelby from the 60's.
First time doing an aged body, pretty happy with how it came out

I got a couple dozen sets of decals made up for the new McAllister Firebird VTA body if anyone is interested

Email "DECALS" to [email protected] for more info

I've sent out about 10 sets so far, waiting to see a couple painted up.

I've also got a few sets of decals left that I did for the McAllister 70 Mustang VTA body

(Total of 6 sets) in different styles - if anyone is interested in these. LMK

I airbrushed this shell for a VTA racer in Texas. The proper body should be the Cuda, but alas, HPI quit making those. So, we used a Challenger instead. He sent me this photo of the body all mounted up and ready to hit the track!

I hate HPI for that.

Dan Gurney drove that.

Thanks, it was Gurney and Swede Savage that drove it I see after doing a little surfing. Donahue was the Sunoco Camaro.

What would it take to make the HPI Challenger - a 'CUDA?

Decals?

I rubbed some lexan against this car this weekend, lol. Thomas is a good kid and made an impressive showing with that Challenger!
