Its actually 200mm up front and 210 at the rear axle and the HPI vintage wheels are made to fit it when used with a 190mm chassis. This confuses a lot of people. I don't mean to overstate it but if you are new to this particular style of racing this can be overlooked.

Hello guys, I have enjoyed looking at everyone's VTA creations posted here and thought I would share too. Our local VTA group is growing and I decided to put one together and race less off-road this winter. I bought the car (a TC3) with the Challenger body already painted but I already had purchased a '68 Camaro I plan on running.

Not having time to paint the Camaro yet, I decided to spruce up the Challenger body with a race theme using old stickers I have saved over the years. It is amazing what a few stickers and and Silver Sharpie can do for a body. The color and look of the Challenger have really grown on me so I am now running it on the track with a lot of compliments for such a simple paint job.

Nice color on the Challenger body, but someone whoops'ed on the T/A stripe stickers, the rear quarter sections were stuck on upside-down.

HELP!!!!Why can't I get on Vintage T/A thread, but I can get on every other one, Screen comes up cannot display!!!!

A better question would be--since this problem has been around for several WEEKS if not months--why is the webmaster unable to fix it? Geesh.

I guess when he painted the body he put the end pieces on the wrong side of the car. I thought it looked different somehow but not being a MOPAR fan at all I didn't think much of it.

Honestly, after comparing the photos of my car and the real one I actually think the upside down stripe ends look better (somehow more racey) where the oem Dodge stripe looks droopy and less exciting. Think I will keep them like they are and see if anyone else notices at the track.

I thought it looked weird--which is why I noticed it--because it doesn't follow the body lines of the car. The rest of the stripes look fine until just past the doors, where everything goes wonky. But anyway--yes, it's unique.

Just a little update as I added some LED lighting to the body as an experiment before painting the Camaro body. They turned out nice and drew a lot of attention during the races last week. The LEDs have a narrow focal point so it appears the brake lights are coming on each time the car rounds a corner. So far they are holding up well.

I added custom chrome reflector buckets to the front lights to give a projector headlight appearance but just used simple LED mounting grommets on the rear taillights. Not as nice as the front but I have other ideas to use on the Camaro body before paint is applied.

wow...Im late to post...ditto on the VTA led lights...I use them for both VTA and USGT...sweet look...

Do we happen to have part #'s etc for these led lights / buckets?

I dont have the package anymore....but if you search the USGT thread, I posted there...somewhere,...or RCGT...not sure its been awhile...but its only like $20 for the kit...it comes with 2 fronts and 2 rear and module...

here is a pic most of us use here locally

My light kit came prewired with 2 white, 2 blue and 2 red for only $4.18 including the LED mounting grommets. I cut off the blue leds and saved them for the Camaro body. Best of all there is no module required, just plug the JST connector into your receiver and you are done.


The light reflector buckets were custom replacement light assemblies from a flashlight sold at Lowes about 10 yrs ago. I bought a bunch back then to have for projects like this. I drilled out the stock Xenon bulbs and modified the buckets to accept the LEDs, made clear lenses for them then Show Gooed the assemblies into the body.

nice price...Ive never ordered anything on-line, but I might this a try..looks good..
