I would say it would be vinyl maskings, correct?

I haven't got the knack of vinyls yet... I think maybe I have to be a bit more patient and layer them, instead of having them all on one sheet.

That way it would pretty much eliminate paint bleeds.

Solid, really nice, clean work, sharp points on your graphics! Those little tiny points give me some trouble. LMF seems to want to roll up when removing material near it. Even when completely cut it tends to restick to itself, sometimes. Are you using any tricks to keep it from happening?
I have considered using my vynil machine to make pointed ends of varying sizes to stop it from happening, or to replace damaged tips, etc.

Nice work!

I know exactly what you mean Jim, that's why I use tape. I used to use liquid mask though but tape seems to be working better for me. The tape I use is very thin, flexible and semi-transparent so it's easier to cut than LM in my opinion.

To get things straight, I ONLY use tape, no vinyls whatsoever. It's all done by hand.

Wow, nice work.

Does it weaken the body? cutting on the body?

Coz I remember that one of the first shells I did basically fell apart coz of all my score marks... lol

in a nutshell yes it does, it creates a weak point in the lexan. This is why i use a vinyl cutter for headlights and grills on TC's as this is the hardest hit area on the car. If you think you are pushing too hard on your bodyshell, try scoring on a lightweight shell.. you'll soon find out where you've pressed too hard... it will be covered in blood where you've cut through to your finger underneath.

No, it doesn't weaken the body unless offcourse you press too hard on the blade. X-acto #11 is the blade I use, very sharp, so you don't have to press that hard to cut only through the tape.

The tape I use is KIP-308 tape. It's from a German company. Not sure it's available in the States. I also used the blue 3M tape in the past and it also works great.
