Default Protoform LTC-R Body

This is all done with Faskolor paints. I used three coats of brush applied Fasmask. I kind of liked the way it looked when it was just the blue design and clear body! Maybe just use a blue tint would look neat? Leave the body transparent?

Once I hit it with the neons, it really popped though! Its mounted on my Associated TC5R for 17.5 TC class.

Good spot RAL, that is a mix of Pactra grape pearl fades and tamiya P35 blue spray can.

Dave AND Indy, super clean stuff, dig it!

BOOM that pops! Even I could see that on a racetrack with my bad eyes.

Nice stuff Dave and Indy,

It's not RC but I had a go at painting my first helmet - just needs to be clear coated to bring up the shine and sparklescents

Sweet helmet, lots of masking time in that bad boy I bet!

I just got a request in for an Angry Birds helmet, lol. I told him I would do it and laid down a price, now we see if he was serious.

Thanks Jim, yeah a lot of masking - it was like doing the hokey pokey - put the mask on, take the mask off , put the mask back on lol

There are a lot of hours but it is more in the masking and prep than actual painting.

The helmets i've painted have all been that way, just like cars and all normal direction painting. There can be more detail and corrections are easier, but EVERYTHING needs to be masked for each color. But it's fun to do anything different, if your able to justify the time needed to do it right.

I have some pics of the grim reaper body just finished up...

Thanks!

I am no where near the level of you guys. But for my skill level, I think I did pretty good with straight lines and minimal bleeding. All createx paints & blue painters tape. Dont mind the high tech q-tip paint stir sticks in the back ground

jk- very nice but can I make a suggestion?

dont use qtips...use toothpicks instead...

the "fibers" on the qtips can fall off....and maybe mess up the paint and leave little hairs in the paint

I only use qtips to fix a paint boo boo on a paintjob and I use denatured alchoal and make sure no fuzzes are left behind

Thank you for the tips fester, I do have another Protech I to paint, going to use the same layout but blue/white. Havent decided what the break stripe color will be though, I dont think the black will make the blue pop the way it helped the flour orange.

My wife was watching and gave me some little wooden stir sticks (like a Popsicle stick but thinner) when I started shooting some paint for the wife. Metallic paints like to be thinned a lot more than flour paint
