977e.

Im using the LRP 4500 mah and works really good but expensive ...I just ordered the arrowmax batteries its half the price

The Serpent 977E is the sickest rc car I've ever driven !
Took it to my local 1/8 on road track today running a 2200kv HW motor on 6 cells
16 tooth pinion .
Wow! After racing nearly every class in rc since 87, this is definitely the fastest , most exciting chassis to drive hard around a track.
The acceleration is unrealistic and astonishing, top speed is insane I'm surprised
this class isn't more popular!
Anyway, question to you guys who have been running these cars for while
Are your lap times faster and do you prefer running 6 cells with a 2000 -2200 kv combo ?
or 4 cells with a 2650 kv ?
I guess it does depend whether you run on a large open track or a tight smaller track.
Also i noticed there have been a few Aussies on this thread , if you guys know of any clubs in AU that are going to be holding any major size meets in the near future that will include this class of car please let me know as my racing buddy and i would definitely travel up to NSW, Vic or WA to compete .

Cheers to Smithers64 for the deal of the century with this car frickin awesome!

In the U.K. We are running this at National events on 1/8 nitro series. It will be entering second year in 2017 and is really growing in numbers.

I run with 2650 motor. Tried 6S which on the straight at my local track is 10mph faster getting up to 72mph on a 70m straight. Over the course of the track however it was only 0.01 seconds faster on my best time no doubt due to increased breaking time and distances due to the speed. Bloody good fun though.

Keep an eye on the Bayswater RC track site. It's already in the calendar (On-road) but it might change.

I just got my 1st serpent 977e and need basic setup advice, have hudy setup station coming. I don't know what order to start with for adjustments, track width, then downs stops, ECT! Can someone please give proper order of basic setup. i read anti roll bars should be disconnected during adjusting, any advice would be appreciated .
What is air gap for on setup sheet? Something in front end body or bumper?

I am yearning on joining the 977e club here. I love Motonica and it's quality and design but I think they already stopped updating the car.

I like to try this e-version of 977.

You wont find it since there is no conversion kit available. I think at one time, Serpent said they were planning on making a conversion kit, but I don't think that ever happened.
