@1/8 IC Fan
Really like your updates (^_^)
I just can't wait for the Buri Racers to arrive....
Meanwhile, I showed the Buri Racer website, pictures and videos at my track yesterday. Got a lot of enthusiastic reactions!

That's pretty cool. Did you do any tailoring of the plies in the composite chassis and arms to change the spring rate or damping characteristics of the car?

Hi,
one main benefit is regarding the setup: Really, no changes needed !!!
Besides:
- you can adjust a little bit the flex between the chassis and the accu-plate and also the tweak of the frontend.
- you can move the upper arm plate a bit forward and backwards.
- there are different upper arm plates available to change the front camber between 0 and 3°
thats all you can change, you will not change everything: just drive and have fun!

I think that with a lower downforce body (given the cars lower weight) it will be a blast on the track. I can already see that it will curb the common detractor of regular 1:8 IC cars (tuning and cleaning). You can focus on driving and the adjustments are minimal (Toe, Caster and front end flex). Its nice to have a car on the pit table and not need a bunch of cleaning and adjusting.
I will concede that I went overboard on the Electrics and Batteries, yet have a simple 2100 KV trackstar system w/ 120A ESC is on the way. So as of now, I am playing with the ESC profiles, and have set the BEC down to 6V vs. 7V. Also to note I am running old 1/8 foams from my other cars - the Matrix wheels being a tight fit to get the QD to close, I will try some Hot-Race and Enettis's soon.
We will take it and the P8F to the track to run some numbers and see a direct comparison.

We did a few more runs, with the new Revtech formula X pack it was a different Animal. Seemed much more powerful, yet I will check the packs against one another next time they are on the charger. Spray Painted up an R15 in a tribute to (my fav. driver) Shimo's Kyosho days. We are still working the ESC programming (being a nitro guy this is all a bit new to me). Moved to a big parking lot to get the profile right. Managed to tap a side curb and bent the rear axle. Chucked it in the lathe and worked the bend back out. It's almost true on the dial indicator, have ordered a .392" carbon fiber tube/pipe that I will replace it with. So, we find the car a lot more forgiving to driver error, for example you can get the car to drift and also get it out of the drift very easily. Also any small or bigger error is easily corrected. Right now I am running 37s on the rear and 35s on the front. We will try 35 /35 at the track. Body stiffeners will be installed. Sofar the son and I are really enjoying the chassis, it will be great to see it on track and compare times. I have emailed Thomas and am still waiting to here back from him in regards to new chassis and availability for the US.
- Update: Thomas informed me that the new chassis will carry a 12mm rear axle vs, the 10mm which is a huge plus - please consider the chassis I have is a Gen 1 and the Beta model. Production Model will incorporate the changes necessary for release to production.
- With the R15, it drives great, feels tail heavy (Downforce) will try a Frizbee and maybe a Mugen Lola (less downforce). Temps after 12 min run are: Motor 138 F, ESC 112 F, and pack is 102 F - currently its 84 F out. We do not see a need for the cooling holes, will see with a hotter motor 2300KV

The P8F is awesome, I love mine, just the ease at which I can get it ready, not much in the way of setup (no shocks, no suspension etc.) It just works. It's easily my favorite car to drive, takes less effort vs. the 2wd cars to drive fast and hard. It's like having my MRX4X without the suspension! Only gripe I have is that it's a front tire eating machine. I am sure you will have a blast, especially with the 3 port.
