Last weekend at the 2nd international clubrace of MORAC-Graz there did start 9 BURI-Racers and 1 Serpent 977e in E8. The winner was Martin Burger-Ringer who was best in all 3 final heats. The best laptime of the day by Marcel Knoeller was only 0.4 sec slower than with his Shepherd/Woldt Performance nitro car!
Look at the video, Marcel is pretty fast in the green car...

Default BURI-Racers Presentation at ENS in Ettlingen

Hi,
my friend Tommy did a fine work in Ettlingen, sadly RedRC doesnt look at non sponsoring items.
But after the race days some of the very top drivers did try the BURI-Racers and they were surpriced of the performance and really had a lot of fun!

Many people did agree that this type of car will have a real chance to be established as some kind of stock class for 1/8th electric! Low costs and minimum maintenance are important arguments!

I did make some short videos...

Either way, this will be a great class if the TTB motors stay out, maybe Ernie P. at Trinity could offer some spec 1/8 2100Kv motors that would go we'll with the class given he is all for spec racing, and keeping cost down. The 480+$ TTB motors may be the cream of the crop for 1/8 on road, but you still need the ESC, and not everyone can afford that setup.

On the otherhand, Thomas what motors and esc's did you guys run, 2000 or 2100's.

Hi,
the 120A escs of Hobbywing are really good working ones (SCT-Pro or WP-SC).

The motors we tried, but i am not fixed yet:
- Turnigy 2100 and 2300kV are the cheap ones but ok and well working
- SkyRC Toro X8 2250kV very powerful
- Hacker 2100kV very powerful but expansive

2300kV is really the maximum, the cars are very fast, I think 2100kV might be the the right choice to drive fast and have fun

More Pics, OCD set in. Replaced the turnbuckles with Titanium ones, made a receiver box (courtesy of an MP9) and mounts for it. Soldered up the ESC. Mounted trued (Squared) Matrix tires, made a new tensioner for the front to relieve some of the tension on the drive belt (was causing tweak - left side was -3mm vs. the right). Body has come in - just waiting on the Batteries, then finish soldering the ESC install correct length antenna tube, and get some asphalt under it.

So we put a few laps in, and have to say it drives very well. Son is still getting used to the power delivery - I will change the profile in the ESC, more on that later.

Put about a solid 15 minutes of running in - parking lot until body is finished then we will hit the track.

Motor never got above 125, and ESC stayed around ~98-101. Mind you these are all temps without the body on, and its 85 out with 61% humidity here.

The drive off the line is immediate and very direct although I noticed you have to watch the front to rear Diameter Bias on the tires. you can easily break the front loose once you get into the higher RPM's - I will play with the bias here in a bit.

It drives very well, reminds me of my Pro10 days, and the rear is similar to the chassis that had wide pods (Delta Villian, RC10L & maybe the TRC Pro 10).

The front end also reminds of kinda of the 200mm 4wd cars, having a one way setup, but the fronts reaction is different that 1/8 IC cars which I believe may be because of the lighter weight carried on that axle.

You get a bit of torque twist once you get the Motor to deliver its full potential too abruptly. If you use a smooth throttle delivery the torque does not over-ride the belt and cause the tweak front to rear. - I will see if the new throttle profile will help with that as well.

Sofar we can't wait to put some Foam down onto the track soon.

-only other updates since the last pics are the addition of the chassis protector tape, and the application of silicon spray to the belt to minimize dirt and debris.

Yes at the time it's only available in europe. I think Thomas may have finished the production cars. If you PM here or go to Buri Racer .com site you may get ahold of him that way too.

I know they just finished running in Italy at Mantua days.
