What motors do you guys have and run? Right now all I have is four 2 bolt CY motors. 2 stock 26, one I built with OBR race ported 30.5 kit and one GP290 I built with a ESP race ported top end kit.

I just bought a set of 4 bolt CY cases for $28 and one day hoping to puy a OBR 30.5 Pro Stock Zen kit rated at 5.5 HP. There Pro Stock line of engines replace their race ported line and put out 1/2 to 3/4 HP more then the race ported line.

My OBR race ported engine is rated at 4.75 HP and the Pro Stock 30.5 or rated at 5.5HP.

If we had a engine section for large scale engines this would be a good topic...lol

I have had cy's a28.5 failed in under 3 gallons heck this Fs china junk engine lasted longer at 7 gallons ....The stock 26 is still holding up in the baja but will be another DPR when it fails ...No more cy's for me

Now I am hooked on DOG PILE RACING engines I picked up a long block full moded 29.5WC ...this thing is a beast in my 4wd if I can get the wheel adaptors to stay on...lol every time I up grade the motor something gives me a fit..lol but what fun...

awesome engine builder an customer service is the best in the bussiness...

Every thing I have heard about DPR has been good. I noticed he mostly builds 29.5 engines as you can take a Zen G290 and instal a plus 1 (29mm) crank with out doing any machining to the cylinder. This is the only engine I have heard of you can to this. If you go with a plus 2 (30mm) crank you either have to machine the cylinder best way to do it or stack gaskets or run a thicker gasket. Have not notice him offering a 30.5 engine. Yes I do think he is a up and coming builder and will here much more good things about him with new additions to his engine line.

I guess I am lucky as I have never had a problems with any of my four CY engines. My stock CY 26 has 6 plus gallons on it when I took it out to put my 30.5 in. Still has great compression and do not feel any up and down play in the bearings. Been thinking about taking it apart just to look at it.

On most of the engines I built out of CY parts I installed better bearings. Can get the 6001 Nachi Bearing which has great reviews in these engines for $3.55 each. Up till now been running TFE standard bearings but have been told the Nachi are even better and they are cheaper.

At one time I was playing around with doing some porting but my old eyes are not what they use to be as well as my hands are not as steady as they use to be either. DDM and some others sent me some messed up cylinders to pay with but that is as far as I got.

Its already dedicated for Large Scale, what we nned to have now is a breackdown of the classes.

Here are some samples of the forums from europe (I am not saying that we must have it the same or copy them, but it is a good idea to learn)
http://www.cochesrc.com/foros/

and once you enter the 1/5 scale, they break it down into brands
http://www.cochesrc.com/foros/1-5-touring-y-f1-513/

so that people from the same brand can comments, discuss setups, etc!!!!

I think it will be very valuable if off-road gets separeted from ON-Road.

Yes that is very similar to the other large scale forums I go to but they are in English. LOL Fist we have to convince them there is a need for a dedicated large scale forum first.

Please guys get all the folks you can to post here.
Thanks

Thanks for the video. We always like pictures and videos. Looks like you have a decent yard to run in. My yard is fairly big but so many obstructions.

First time I had a chance to check in today as I took a little 300 mile putt on the motorcycle.

My front yard is fairly small with a concert drive that loves eating up off road tires that you have to cross. The back yard is fairly big but the problem is I have many 100 to 200 or more year old oak trees and I do not want to cut them down.

Not a bad site but NOT very active for on-road 1/5 scale. RC Tech is much more active -- there's posts on Large Scale that are YEAR'S old still on the front page.
It would be better if we could get them all on ONE page-- or the other!!
