Kyosho has set the car up for on road, right out of the box. Why change something that works just fine the way it is? The only thing I would change would be to lay the front shocks down one hole.

MikaR-How do you determine the FDR and what is optimal for this car? Have you found that getting too far away from this you loose handling? And where do you find the 40 spur?!?

Foxx- on the stock steering rod is there anything else? haha but i havent had any problems with em yet and ive taken some hellacious tumbles! Also do you run yours with the shockss in one hole? How differently does it handle?

reaper- check a few post back for the link and wheres your ride?

I will try single speed, but with the tranny I'm pretty close FDR tranny 5.12 FDR diff 4.79 (24/46) Using the tranny with 22T would be roughly the same. Anyone thought using the 40T spur ? I think Hobao has them. When going to higher gearing like the 26/46 is there a threat the motor to overheat and loose power (and eventually break?) I'm having low temps with a tranny. __________________ Nitro: RRR evo 2 RB V12 Rody / Orion CRF12, Spada 09 O.S. Gearing, voltage, motor kv / amp draw are a balancing act. In order to keep temps down, you need to make adjustments. So if you go up in gearing, then you need to either go down in kv or gearing. If you keep all three high, lifespan of your motor or battery will diminish.

I used this to calculate FDR, I think the internal gear ratio is 2.5

http://www.rcracing.com/Gear_Ratio_Program_1100.cfm

About optimal, can't say - I don't think there is one

I found a 40 spur from A-main some time ago (by Hobao/OFNA) but can't find it anymore. It could fit Inferno.

First, you're using longer shocks, made for off-road. So, setting ride height might be a problem. Like I said before, shorter shocks are better for onroad. And that is why you're not able to set the ride height any lower. Droop only controls suspension up travle, not ride height. Setting the shock collars with pre-load will set the car's ride height.

can anyone point me in the direction of a site with a selection of GT class bodies and possibly a rally body which will fit a 1/8th off road buggy?
I am running a Losi Eight with the brushless castle conversion kit and just wanna have some fun bashing. the castle converson allows me to use dual lipo's in series , but the stock buggy body sits really high, so i wanna find something that will cover the wheels and look cool at the same time.

Current record in our little group is 91mph!!
Oh ok nice. What are you using for the battery tray ?. Which center diff are you using. Bases on the 26/46 combo the gt2 will be geared for over 120mph!. Do you think the 30t pinion would fit on the ve mount ?. For the tires I lay into the throttle gently lol.

No wonder my car is still so high, my shocks collar is already at max.

The front shocks are the ones most guys use right for all the shocks right? Is it the same as DM-1 shocks?

Does a graphite chassis make a diff?

Can someone tell me how to multi quote in one response?

Its geared at 25/48 now.. But on the 30t pinion.. idk? Its hard to say.. with the 25/48 i dont think i could get much more than a 26 on there.. But if i put that 40 on that raman found im sure id have more room! VE battery tray

I don't know. That's the $30 question LOL. Good thing about Amainhobbies is that they will take returns for store credit so long as its not used.

It is a mod 1 that I am sure of. Question is if the holes line up. My experience is that Kyosho, Mugen, Ofna diff casings are very close in size... with Kyosho MP9 being the exception
