Awesome paint job! I've always wondered how people do that.

Default blitz conversion

Hello, new to SCLM. I'm converting my old blitz to run this class. I have the assassin body, needing to build the spoiler. Any tips on this?. I bought .40 lexan
to use. Seems thick and difficult to bend precisely.

How are you guys setting up your ESCs for oval racing? Drag brake? I think I had about 20% for my first race. It worked well running the bottom groove around the track and transferring weight onto the front tires. Later in the night, the track gained more grip and I don't think I was rolling the center of the corner as well as some others. I stayed about the same speed, while other guys picked up a little. I'm just curious if others use drag brake for oval racing or not?

I have tried it. I think it probably depends more on your driving style and what works for you. For me it seemed to be more of a crutch. Once I got setup better, I kept taking out more and more drag brake and now I have none. One way, it is more consistent, but if you have to let off the throttle and back on and then off again, there is a lot more weight transfer going on and it can make the car feel more erratic. I personally feel smoother weight transfer will yield more consistent lap times, if that makes sense. Again, this is what worked for me, I know others like drag brake, and I am by no means whatsoever any kind of expert, lol.

Thanks for the info. Like most things in this hobby, I guess its a personal preference type of thing. I think I'm going to do the same and slowly back off on the drag brake.

I got my first A-main win in my 2nd oval race last night. We had 13 trucks, which was a decent car count. Our SCT races are basically open rules except you need rubber tires and 2wd. I'm having a lot of fun making changes on the truck and getting it to work better for oval racing.

Harbor Freight sells a metal brake that works well on 0.40 - 0.60 lexan.

Alternately, get two straight pieces of 1x3 and clamp them where you want to bend it, and heat is with your heat-gun a little, then bend it with another straight piece of 1x.

Default Scte 2.0 late model

I'm converting my scte 2.0 into 1/8 late model. Any suggestions on where to find a front bumper? I know no one makes one for it I'll have to modify what ever I get to work on this car. I turned it into sc modified for a one off race at my local track that I usually race off road at just to try oval and had a blast. To be legal at the oval tracks in the area in sc mod class I would have to run a 13.5 motor which I think would have a hard time pulling the heavier chassis or switch it to late model
