Although it wouldn’t be good for racing, are there any open wheel bodies for these 1/8th scalers?

I got a good laugh out of that. I imagine you mean F1! Yes there are a bunch from Delta Plastik. We raced these bodies over 20 years ago...

Yeah I don’t race this class of car, but I love watching and reading up on the different kits. I always thought they would look great with older f1 style bodies that fit the dimensions

May be i just can't see it but where is the suspension in that kit? Or does it use some type of flex plate type suspension system

Its not, this class is an entry level class. Brought on to interest kids into 1:8 IC. The class is run as a spec class, there is only flex in the chassis and two pivo points inder the front axle to allow a type of see saw action left to right.
