Corally - For our small by comparison tracks, a Green Machine (re: GM3) lacks bottom and mid-range punch. While the P2k/P2k2 may not have the blistering top end of a GM3, it performs better for the total lap. For your situation however, the GM3 should be perfect on that kind of a track. Don't know of any other sites for Pro10 Pan Car, sorry.

antoniop - Only two? Stop taunting....lol. I supposed the upside to a lot of the permanent American tracks (like SoCal) is that they are indoors and can be ran year-round though. And, parking lots are plentiful although racing in parking lots seems to be dying somewhat.

Tphalen - You guys gonna run this week...and yeah, I could definitely use a European vacation.

You're invited Mark.

One of the tracks is 5 minutes away fro my home and the other around 15 minutes.

I wonder of a small country like mine can afford to have this kind of RC facilities.

Land is expensive around here...

Hey Phalen - Is Brad G going with you? If not, you guys should buy him a ticket just to pick up on the overflow of chicks who'll think they're talking to Fred Durst

Don't worry, the Corally thing is nothing more than let's hypothetically say, a negotiation of something that could make my racing a bit cheaper . If nothing happens that would be good for both of us, I'll be running my AE car every week still.

You probably could from night to night, but, you will eventually need one to keep the tires equal from side to side...

Or, if you just rotate the tires left to right often enough (from every run to once a race day; depending on wear), you can get by w/o a truer quite well.

2001 Roar Canadian Asphalt Nationals
Report by Chris Hammond

This year’s Roar Canadian Asphalt Nationals was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (about 2 ½ hours North of Calgary, Alberta) hosted by the Northern Alberta Scale Car Auto Racers (N.A.S.C.A.R.) Drivers came from all over Canada (Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto) and from the North Western US to compete.

Most of the Pro-10 class was drivers from the Victoria area and they seemed to have a great time. The Pro-10 cars were lightning fast on the 140’ straight hitting speeds of up to 67 km/h.

Pro-10 Modified A Main

Driver Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Total Points
Blake Bell 100 100 0 200

Daryl Jones 97 96 99 196
Darren St. Peter 98 98 94 196

As you guys aleady know Novak did not release their brushless motors this summer as advertised. They say they will be doing so in January 2002. There will be 3 models. The one with the highest rev is the one without reverse. Is anyone of you guys planning to install one of these on your pro10's?

Yokomo is releasing an electric touring car. It's called the 'DD'. I think it stands for Direct Drive. It's like a pan pro10. There is a single shock for the rear. The front suspension is more sophisticated than an ordinary pro10.

Basically it's rear-wheel drive. It's so efficient that it uses only four cells. When you think about it, Asso already has the touring version of 10L but Yok's using only four cells. For those people who love the simplicity and speed of pro10's and also the great variety of rubber tires, this is probably the best compromise. Who knows, maybe it's faster than the mainstream 4-wheel-drive electric tc.

Yokomo's had Pro10 cars before. They've been very competitive and super sophistcated, but the price has really hurt them, especially in the States where Associated and Trinity can sell the kits and parts for much cheaper.

4 Cells...well, Pro10 modified has been limited to 4 cells at bigger events, as has ALL oval classes. Seems to me that only limiting the car to 4 slots really hurts the tuneability of the car, i.e., shifting the cells forward or back, side to side.

And, efficiency I don't think is a problem with Pro10 cars...bearings maybe, but that's about it....

I would like to see it, though...do you know if they're releasing it in the States??? Keep us posted...

I think he's talking about Yoke's new "Pandan". Their new wide Pan Car (the YRX-10 mk.II) is available in the US currently but only though Billy at Speedworld. It sells for something like $275 so I don't think you'll ever see many around.

It'll probably take years for Novak's brushless motors to be legalized so until then, I'm not really thinking about them. And never, ever believe a Novak release date.....

RC10L2 and at least C10 and C10X come with premounted tires in the box. The tires are too soft to be used. Are the tires intended for any use at all? Eg. Camber, toe-in/out ....settings.

Are those soft tires intended for winter use or are they intended for decorations only?

Acutally, those super-soft tires (green compound) are just what we use over here. On your tracks, they may just be "setting wheels", but for me, they're good tires.
