You need to get a GTP-style body and more blue-anodized parts for that thing then

So i am running oval truck class. My local track just switched to carpet. It was an indoor asphalt track with no banking. Now its got carpet on it and they are gonna start oval again. What are some basic changes i should be looking to do to my truck when i go racing?

Your best bet is to ask that over at the HobbyTalk forums. Very few oval racers here.

Pan-car chassis? Stadium trucks? Slashes? TOUR rules? Or just "track rules"? Need some more info

Hey guys, I am wanting to convert my 10L2 from 235mm to 190/200mm width for WGT use. I have located everything except a suitable top pod plate. Is there any upper pod plate from another manufacturer, such as IRS, BMI, CRC , etc, that will work in place of a 10L3T or 10L2O top plate? A triple shock configuration would be preferable, but I could work with a damper disc top plate.

Have you considered re-drilling, cutting, and splicing the existing top plate to decrease its width? You can also use the existing top plate with side shocks by eliminating the damper disks and drilling two holes to accept the pivot balls for the side shocks.

None of the above options would be considered "pretty", but they are both viable and expedient.

I found a 10L2O top plate, but I was wondering if the 12L3O top plate may work as well. The 12L3O uses a triple shock setup. I believe i had seen someone using it, but I don't know what axle or bottom plate was used.

Redrilling the 10L2 top plate could be an option now that I look at it. It looks like I'd just have to drill 1 hole and cut off the excess carbon. Most of the parts are cheap except for the axle kit. I was looking at the IRS world GT axle kit, I am assuming these are the parts I need to complete the conversion since the correct 10L3 right drive hub is nearly impossible to find. http://teamirsrc.com/index.php?main_...products_id=97

You should only need the rh hub from that set. The distance from the spur gear to diff nut should be the same on ae rear axles wide or narrow so you don't need a new axle and the lh hub can be adjusted with spacers to the correct width.

Default ...in terms of hubs......

...I've had brushed motors in the rear pod of my 10L3T and iv'e used the I.R.S. [shorter] hubs-IRS123-the bolink style hubs. I didn't bother using the shorter WGT hubs .... now that I'm thinking about it , these hubs can also be useful (for me) in regards to spacing out the axle properly. Good luck and I appologize if I seem to be rambling->"brushed motors in my 10L3T..."haha

Well, looks like the 10L2 will be staying as a 235mm car in the hopes that Pro10 or another 235mm class starts up again around here. I picked up a 10L3O for less than the cost of an IRS axle kit, so it was a bit of a no brainer. Not I just need to get a 13.5 motor, 1S ESC, 1S lipos, and a charger.

I got a 1/10 to race on carpet oval. What's the best 17.5 brushless motor powered with 3.7 battery. Any info would be great.
