We have one - Runs well, fairly fast, likes fuel. Nice case work and the crank is beautiful. Rody's prepared motors are a touch faster.

C5 COLLARI

I was told that C5 Collarri has a better top-end than a C5Rody. and what about parts for it? any idea?

We tested the C5 Collari at the Nat's in Florida. It had slightly more top end than the C5 1005 Rody - but, it used more fuel. We choose the Rody because we were able to make 5 minutes. Scott qualified and finished second. We were very close to TQ - I believe it was a .02 margin between Scott and Josh.

With a Collari Mod, if you waste a piston/sleeve or crank you are sol - They are custom order - if you could even get the parts. That would be up to Rody - you could check with Kevin at Ace - he would know for sure.

Kevin @ Ace: (800) 383-2657

wow good question .well depending on the track size and the tuner the 5 port should be faster with gearing and everything else the same . and fuel consumption the same

I would think that the 5port will use a slight more fuel than the 3 port & th 5pt is slightly faster.
just like a real car 4cyl 6cyl 8cyl this is just mechanical thinking
on real motors let's say a 350 engine you bore out the heads giving you more top end & more speed but at the same time you increase the flow of the fuel which consumes more to get that power just a thought

Xenon R

Just wanted to drop a note. We have been running a Xenon R in our Kyosho Evolva at the Speedline Race, 3/29 - 4/2, in Houston Texas. Scott Kimbrow TQed, set a new track single lap record (14.8) and set a new TQ record (20 laps 5:06) - would have been faster, but a track barrier got in the way. This motor hauls A... No joke, it is seriously fast. There are drivers from across the country at this event -ask them about Scott Kimbrows motor. Watch the RB Site for release updates. Plus, I'm sure we will have info on the Empire Rc Racing site as well.

i would be very interested when a .12 version comes out... will there be one?

Craig1 04-02-2006 03:26 AM

Are these Sirio based?

More interested in the 12's. Does anyone know.

Rich Browne 04-02-2006 05:23 AM

Don't know about the .012's. Our test motor is an RB Speedline Xenon R. It is faster than our C5 Rody RC1005. It is the fastest motor at this event.

well that all would be right if you leave in stock ! when you mod engines there is more ways to get power from them in differant ways .real car engines f1 and champ car both use v8 now . but one is turbo and the other is not but they both make the same power. tuneing and a good car&engine package will get you to the winner"s circle

HarKonnenD 04-02-2006 08:55 AM

Man how much will it be for a rebuild for this engine - anyone know? That's a great price for one considering it's cheaper than the C5 and C5 Rody yet has more power. I've considered the Ninja, but then again I don't know.
