Strainge... RC CarAtion Magazine did a somewhat detail write up on this motor in there last issue and promised in there upcoming May issue a full dyno test of the CRF Wasp REV .12... Page 78 April 2006... Checking out there website and what's in there upcoming issue, they make no metion of the dyno test or the CRF REV motor at all.... :weird: Hey... It might be in there... For those Monster truck fans.... They do have a complete write up on the Traxxas 3.3 motor... :sneaky: The picture on that page is from April 2006, but the article is for the May 2006 edition.

Funny thing happen when I picked up the May 2006 edition of RC CarAction today... The promised dyno test of this motor, the CRF Wasp Rev .12 was completely ommited from the issue... No hint or explanation as to what happen during the testing nor why the dyno test was ommited. What they did do was slop... I mean swap the engine test with a preview of the Traxxas 3.3 nitro motor... Like we really care if the N4TEC can now hit over 70 mph with there new motor... Nice upgrade through Traxxas... Getting back to the Team Orion CRF Wasp Rev .12 motor... Something must be going on with that motor :weird: ... Is it even for sell yet??? And everyone, I'm not trying to bash Team Orion or it's motor... It's just that over 6 months now, we've been seeing 1 and 2 page adds, video clips, ect... and no facts to back up any claims... Any reps from RC Car Action or Team Orion lurking around this tread should post some input as to what is going on with this motor and some true dyno info as well... Even Team Orion web-page hasn't been updated yet and there forum seems very... very quite... Again, I hope the best and only time.... A long time will tell.

I was thinking the same thing when I was browsing through here. I didn't see the thread on the first page, which is unusual for an item of new technology like the rev.

The engine is coming, very soon.

The engine features a lot of technical innovations which took a lot of time to perfect. It's not just another engine with some funky work on the porting. Several engines have been running almost daily at local races. Racers have been able to see it's performance and are eagerly waiting to fit one on their cars.

How about almost 6 months late... With all there Mag ads. and videos... :weird: They're a day late and a dollar short... No specs yet??? HP, RPM, torque??? RC-Car-Action did a write up on it Apr 06 and promised a full detailed review with questions true racers have been waiting for answered in there May 06 issue... The whole article was omitted without a hint of a reason why... That's Orion's lost and Ninga, Nova, Sirio, and OS's gain in more market share and profit... I'm sure the motor will be released, but for $280.00... Unless that motor has a run time of 7min in race conditions and putting out over 1.7 legal hp's... Racer's might be alittle :sneaky: /Skeptical... Hey, it's suppose to be the next big thing in 2 stroke RC motor design. The verdict is still out .02... Not a Bash... Just alot of vaperware as in Nitro... :weird:

It sounds like bunch of broken promises from Orion. I rather spend $280 on a Novarossi N12LL3 or the N12LS3. Orion needs to release new information about this motor ASAP.

Karting engines also have different needles, it is just normal to fine tune a real competition engines.

Due to broken promises from team orion, I'll cancel my order on wasp rev engine. Too expensive than grp ninja.

Zac Project 04-20-2006 11:21 PM

I wanna see how fast that toki motor goes :sneaky: .

WorldCup2004 04-21-2006 07:29 AM

From what I heard from Europe it is outperforming anything on the market today.
