Just comparing .12 motors with each other as far as price is concern... Pegasus hobbies is selling the Sirio EVO III for $240.00... And pre-orders for the Orion Wasp REV .12 motor for $315.00... Now I know cost all depends on what the manufactures wants to sell there motors for... Knowing that and how strong the EVO III is... The Wasp REV .12 must be a monster of a motor... :sneaky: The count down has begun... Looking forward to seeing it in action.

Granted a sirio might be fast....but so is a os tz for 199. Then a d3R STS is 140 and is also fast. Price doesnt really stand for power.

Im sure with the orion motor you are paying for the R+D. I have a feeling its going to be a sweet motor , devastating....not sure.

Here is the latest preview shot of the Wasp REV in the new caraction. It seems to have a number of ways to tune it. Comes with 5 carb needles and cyclinder spacing shims. As well has a venturi for the carb. Pretty much youll be able to fully change the powerband on this motor. Should be pretty cool to see how this motor does , especially with all this extra tuning that can be done with it.

Hopefully this info will pop up on orions website soon.

Very true, its hard enough getting a 3 needle carb tuned. Now once your done with that youll be asking yourself more questions about the powerband. But normally its a double edges sword. There will be very experienced engine tuners that will love this and hopefully they will give some reccomendations on whats good for what and so forth.

Usually with most crazy setups , there are a few who really sit down and figure it out for us. Hopefully that will happen with this motor.

The timing shims said they can change how much power comes on and the more shims the higher the power comes later in the rev range.

For the needles you can get a more progressive power (which is like thinking in multiples). Linear power is smooth , continual , straight lines. Where progressive is like an earthquake or quarter mile , growing. Where its not in steps but multiples.... I love the term progressive and linear...lol. As well as exponential.

Then the venturi for the carb can give you better low-end response and a more refined moving air flow. Normally sacrificing a little overall top-end power. But usually at good sacrifice to good drivability and easier to tune sometimes.

well they definately went in the opposite direction as say the new grp ninja wich looks to only have two needles.....

like you said it seems to be aimed at the more experienced racer and not so much the new guy on the block..

I wouldnt say that.. the grp motor seems to have quite a few new technologies under the hood.....

The engine was designed with the expert racer in mind. The best way to describe it is as a electric hand wound modified motor version of a nitro engine. One can be successful with the engine as it is out of the box. But you have access to factory tuning parts that allow very fine tuning.

A lot of options can be good and bad. Most electric racers do not buy and try all brush/compound/spring/timing combinations but there are those that want to be able to. Most however, rely on others and/or the factory to provide good set-ups for their particular application.

Engines will be tested by the press very shortly. We will be posting our own dyno numbers as well.

the same is supposed for JP FX engines and we see engines costing the half and performing even better.........
