Has anyone had rear bearing failure's due to hi temp's over 260? just wondering how if the instructions warining's were really acurate. Thank's.

I have a TZ (p) 3 port. I assume it's possible to get the 5 port piston, sleeve, con rod, and crankshaft? I already know a 3 port performs now I wanna try a 5 port.

Is colour and the carb reducer the only difference? I was reading the manual and I guess they're the same except the 5 port come with the reducer and a different carb body? I am thinking to get the 5 port parts with my 3p.

i think the diameter of the bore on the crank shaft is bigger on the 5 port than on the 3 port.

nero1943 08-31-2005 11:51 AM

so will it work? I really wanna try the 5 port.

yes, it will work, but you might need to change the needle settings a bit.

nero1943 08-31-2005 12:02 PM

of course, i'll set it to the factory setting.

Hi there!

I´m looking for a pipe to fit my TZ which is ordered.
I got a Mielke 2501 here which is currently in use with my Novarossi NSR3 engine.
Will this pipe fit the TZ? I´ve heard that the exhaust diameter of the OS block is different than the Novarossi.
We don´t have the "Skyline" brand here in Germany, so which other pipe is good for the TZ?

Many thanks in advance!

hey, im new to rctech and you folks look like a good well educated bunch. I recently started racing my NTC3 with a OS .12 TR with 5 gallons on it but im in the market for a new engine.

What are your reviews, comments, feedback of the OS .12 TZ 3port and 5 port? Im thinking either a TZ 3/5 port or one of the novarossis like N12LL5 or similar. The track im running is reletivly short, acceleration is more important than top speed.

How does the TZ 3 or 5 port compare to the new novarossis?

Thanks guys

Hey Krasi, I just went from a Novarossi ns3 to a .12 tz and I love it! this motor is so easy to tune and it has alot of power. The motor is linear, and there's no other forgiving motor as an OS. It's been many gallons since my ns3 has been in peak pinch so i can't give you a exact head to head drag race but I truely believe that this motor will out pull my novarossi. Top speed i really can't give you a definate answer but you will not be dissapointed with this motor. Stay with the 3 port if your planning on staying legal. but if your going to be king go 5-port.also the TZ doesnt run as hot temp as the novarossi, actually there was a 40 degree diffrence! I hope this helped. It's just my 2 cent's.

Krasi_5000 09-01-2005 09:15 PM

well the track here cares that its a .12, no restriction on ports at all. I love my TR...5 gallons, easy to tune, runs no matter how the needles are pretty much. And makes decent power. I will most likely go with the TZ since parts are cheaper and i had good expirience with OS...hear novarossi is a little more finiky.

-what temp does ur novarossi run at and what does the tz do?
-if im not mistaking the ns3 is a older novarossi engine...how would the tz compare to lets say one of the latest novarossis like the LL series or the LS series, i hear they are awsome...and not too much more expensive.
-From YOUR expeieience with engines in general how long do they last under race conditions?..im at 5 gallons with the TR but thats with pretty easy going bashing. How long have YOUR engines you RACED lasted?

Thanks again. I just wanna know as much as i can before buying either engine.
