Same thing happened to me. You must change everything at one time. Piston/Sleeve rod all have to be DSII. crank will work but make sure your bearing are good or it will be a waste of time and money. Speaking from experience.

Thanks for sharing. So your motor ran fine after you've changed the internals except for the crank, is that right?

I've replaced rear and front bearings and can buy the rod, pin, and clips but I am worried that mega may have place more material around the bottom rod bushing that it may actually touch the crankcase. Or that they may have shrunk the bushing such that it doesn't fit the pin on the crank.

Please comment. Thanks.

Well, as the crankshaft from the DSII is really very different than the DSI crank, I know for sure that if you want DSII "performance" from your DSI, you should also exchance the crank.....
My opinion, don't take the risk by replacing parts, but just take the new DSII+
It also has a different shaped head button, of which flame-out problem should be history.....

Doh! I've just ordered the new rod, pin and clip before I got this response. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to buy a new DSII+ and use these parts for the next rebuild.

Thanks guys.

Well, then I would just try it.....
But if the crankpin is a bit worn out, the new rod will wear fast too, and this is a shame......

Hi guys,
I want to measure the temperature of my engine. To get the accurate temperature reading I need to know the emission rate of the cooling head. I got Mega ZX12 DSII engine. What is the emission rate of the cooling head.
Thanks,
oze

Use Nova Rossi # 7601 con-rod for the Mega Masmo MF12.
