I'm glad you like the engine....
But it's time to change the rod....
If you don't, it's your call, but don't complain if it breaks and damages the internals...

Picco made some small modifications within the DSII range of engines, the rods and piston/liner are a bit harder, so if you order a new rod, you might just get this new type....
(I only don't know for sure if they are already on the market)

Default Great engine...

Hi guys,
I just came back from Nitro tour at Bangkok... love this engine... This is my first outing with the ZX21 DS2... and it didn't loose out in any area with other more expensive engine, just need to improve more on my driving to get to better mains... The japan drivers driving style is really impressive...

regards,
ck

Cool, good to hear. I'm also happy with my DSII in my 960.

How were the Japanese drivers setting their cars up?
Springs? Shocks? Roll Center?

Were they also running the DSII?

The Japanese driver use the Max engine and the only thing i notice is their track width is very narrow... also the body shell is special... they set the rear wing super high... i think MS also like the body , He set the TQ time with it and use it for the final as well...

Anyone know if there are there any plans to release a Mega ZX12 DSII Powerpack in the next 3 months?

I already took it out of the car. I only ran it that long because I wanted to see if it would break like the DSI's did. It was a risk but I got the info I wanted. It won't see the track again until I change the rod. I'm taking it to WinterNats.

Its still early days with the DSII ,have 2 practice days on the engine so far.Been busy getting a good clutch setup and gearing sorted out on my G4S.
So far I feel the DSII has definately a bit more steam on the top compared to the ZX12 but the bottom is not as punchy.Seems a bit smoother through the power band though.
Also noticed it seems to like a longer fist gear compared to my old ZX12R.
Will be doing some tuning and gearing changes again this weekend coming so lets see what happens.I guess also if expecting more from the engine I should look at a Masmo or JP.

Hey Razzor ~ Have you tried different pipes/headers with the .12 DSII yet?

When I was thinking about getting a DSII, the guys I spoke to said the bottom end performance should be really good.

I have the Mega 2607 ,JP forgot the number with med an short manifolds and I have a Skyline VR12+ .One thing I noticed was it didnt like the conical header but I will try it again since I was still setting the clutch .

Default MF vs Max

Is the Mega MF12 basically the same engine as the Max SL3?
