My motors have the same level than a JP mod or Rody mod with less consumption... QUOTE] Romuald, how much does a TR T Spec 2004 cost over there?? AFM |
the engine is around 225-250 € and is available now in europe.

Originally posted by compaq888 ok, i just spent the whole day at the track. We had a race with touring cars and guess who got 1st place, a guy with a mtx3 with a OS TR-T:eek:  a lot of people ran mtx-3's and he also did too, you could clearly see he kept up to everybody in the turns but when it came to the straightaway he got smoked. At the 5 min mark all the italian mills ran out of fuel, and of course he was still going. The italian motors had to be restarted, while he came in for fuel and kept on going. You should of seen the look on some guys when they found out he had a TR-T and they had $250-300 motors and lost. After the race i asked him how much he got the motor for, he said $160. Personally i think with better cooling and the right pipe the OS TR-T can probably keep up with the Italian mills on the straightaway:sneaky: |
I noticed most guys at the track ran the RD logics pipe
|
The Pipe that I use is the OS T-3010. it works great:D

Yes, the TR was performing very well. The driver drove a very consistent race with no crashing at all. But there is no way the TR can keep up with the Novas on the straights. :sneaky: |
Originally posted by vones you are correct...os just lack the top end to keep up but the low surge of the car is the advantage in the infield....so if you're racing in a technical track with short st8s(35m max)....then os is the ideal engine.....and also Nova has come out with the RR L3/RRL5...personally I hve not seen the performance of this engines... |

Engine Maintenance
Hi Guys,
I have a .12 TR (P) - T and was wondering if anyone has a recommended maintenance schedule for this. Past experience maintaining it would also be appreciated. Cheers, John |
Isnt the OS .12 TR(P) a 5 port turbo eng. Is it legal for roar racing....? For club racing doesnt matter, but by Roar rules .12 engs must be 3 port.
|
Yes the .12TR-T is not ROAR legal but the New .12TR-T R-Spec is
3 ports Turbo. |
When is the R Spec coming out? I have heard great things about it. I know they rate the Turbo at 1.3. Is there a rating on the R spec?

I picked up a slightly used V one RR today, i should be there this saturday at the track getting help setting it up. The engine will probably be put in July.:sneaky: |

Does anyone have the specs on this new engine? I know there was a picture posted.
thanks, john |
no, there are no new specs yet. Just wait 2-4 weeks and it will be for sale at tower. I might get that or TR T, but i don't know, i'm having a hard time deciding:(

I will get spec's to the .12TR(P)-R-Spec .
The new engine was ran at the Texas Biggie this weekend, Their was great resluts our team driver Ron Atomic used the R-Spec and Qualifed 2nd in the A main but got into a crash and finished 12. He had one of the fastest engines eveyone was shocked that it was a OS engine. and Rick Vessel mad the C main. The drivers were very happy with the performance and the speed rick said he could have made it to the B but driver error got the best of him. This engine will be ran at the Nitro TC Nationals in Sept. and you will be shocked to see who will be running OS.:sneaky: |
Doesnt the Texas biggie have a huge track..... Still in a bus parking lot.
|
They ran 1/8 scale cars on the track this weekend, the back straight was 200FT.
|
The Texas biggie was run at our new permanent track, it is a ribbon layout with pavestones in the infield areas. The previous four years it was run at Texas Motor Speedway in the parking lot.
I talked with Ron about his OS motors and saw them run first hand. It was fast and looks like a very nicely made motor, it has a larger cooling head than the older TR-P. I will be giving the new OS a try as soon as it is released in my NTC3. Cody |
are they running off the shelf engines or have they been worked. my tr hauled butt too, but i had more to do with the porting than os did when i was done with it.
|

The engines had no modifcation.;)

The R-Spec Has more than enough Horse to compete with any engine, on smaller tracks maybe to much.:D
|
so are you saying that it even has enough to compete with the new Novarossi L3 engines? They are rated over 1.5hp....hmmm. I can't wait to see the specs....
|
Spec: 4,000-36,000 RPM 1.5ps/31,000rpm
:tire: |
wow 1.5......hmmm now this gets interesting.....
If it retains the renowned ease of O.S. tuning and price points then it is sure to make serious waves. John |
those are some serious claims. this i have to see.
|
Well as far as specs go I am not sure what they are but I do know that the engine is awsome. Rick Vessel was running a box stock and was as fast as 95% of the other engines. My engine had some crank work done on it and I was never passed on the straight and had more infield grunt than the track could handle. The most impressive thing to me was that putting the modified crank in did not change the way the engine wanted to idle . The engine was perfect, it would run for 8 minutes at 214 degrees. The outside temp was 90-100 degrees . Also remember that specs don't really mean much unless compairing them with the same manufactuer. My crank had some work but look at it like this, 159.00 for the engine (120.00 less than an x12) , so once you have it modified (100.00) , it is still cheaper , just as fast if not faster , and has the best carberator on the market(reliability). If anyone would like work on their engines , let me know and my guy will do them for 100.00. you can contact me at [email protected].
|
By the way , gijoe64 did not know I was running a mod crank. I have not sent in my race report yet .
|
Thanks for the infor RON.:D
|
Thanks Atomic,
What type of work is done to the crank? Nice to see O.S. have an engine able to compete with the Italians. I currently have the 12 TR Turbo. Quite nice but not ROAR legal. I await the release of this new engine.... thanks, john |
The timing had been opened up , thats about it. The center bore on the tr and r-spec are already at limit .
