Thanks for your help,i really didnt think that red stuff would be silicon......bye the way is there any special procedure for the application??????? |
Originally posted by stefan JP bores out the crankshaft towards the fron (clutch) to make it lighter and the putty is used to seal that hole, or it would change gas flow and crankcase volume negatively. |

Do you think that if you got the crank heated up that it would help it settle to a better shape?
|
You could use kerosene to "tool' the RTV to shape or maybe cover with plastic wrap and form the shape with your finger, removing the wrap when it's cured.
I'd expect you want the inside of the crank absolutely clean and grease free to ensure the best adhesion before you start. Anyway, probably stefan will have the procedure down to a fine art. ;) |
use the self leveling version of the rtv instead of the one in paste form. the finish is smooth and shinny when done correctly.

Texas Biggie
Hey Brad,
Good luck to you at the Biggie ! I hope you have a GREAT Weekend ! |
Hey Brad are you running one of the new engines? Are you coming out for the O"Donnell race at REV?
Hey Dennis-Are you going to have any motors that I could run for you at the O'Donnell race? It will be a pretty good test in the heat. This is Steve Chamberlain. I ran your practice motor at the Airtronics race. It was awsome and I would like to run your stuff. PM me or E-mail me. Thanks Steve Chamberlain |
